Harry Potter Quidditch Broom (Hardware Build)

or since they wrapped wire coils around the straw for the movies, maybe wrapped wire coil in silver to match your dryer clamps. Or wrapped leather cord.

I tried the leather thing last night and although it was a great idea, it just didn't look right to me. I also thought about wrapping it in wire, but that's an awful lot of wrapping and any gaps or warped areas would look odd.
I'm going to try my original idea of some kind of copper, bronze, or brass sleeve. Kind of like a heat shield on a motorcycle's exhaust pipes.

I chose to just paint the plumbing bracket along with the curtain rod extenders/hooks in an antique copper color to match the wood tones. I feel it turned out ok. I am still not excited how the grass turned out, but I decided to stop playing with it and just hang it.

Below are some photos....

Sorry for the low quality photos... I tried every battery in the house and nothing had enough juice to get my camera to turn on. So I used my iphone to snap photos and since there is no flash, the images are a little dark and low resolution.:unsure

Fantastic! I think that turned out really well! I love the painted bands and foot pegs!

Thanks... there are a few things i would like to fix, but I can't see myself tearing it apart, so I will just live with them. I am happy how it looks hanging.:)

I don't think it should be 'perfect' anyway...it should look like you've flown a few miles on it, don't you think?! (Hey, maybe you could make a small faux odometer for it!!)

Just finished mine up, the DIY made it extremely easy to build. All I have left is to hang it!

Hey! Way to go. Looks great!

FYI, for anybody else wanting to make one of these, I saw that walmart has identical curtain hooks in various finishes for half the price they are at Home Depot. Home Depot's were $15 and Walmarts were $7 and change.

Ah ok, thanks for the diagram I thought it was cone, ball, cone then handle lol! I couldn't find a 5" ball at hobby lobby this morning all they had was 6".

Wow... this is amazing...

I've had my husband collecting small branches every time he goes to the hunting cabin but I wasn't quite sure how to attach them to the dried sapling he found for a handle for me. If my doesn't turn out with the more natural found materials, I know what to do next.

Thanks again,
Kell
