Harry Potter: Hogwarts Textbooks

My plan was to do a pdf of it when I finished the back cover and spine. I'll still do it, but now I have to figure out a better distribution method that doesn't involve gankage!

Meh, I posted it on my blog now, so at least people know where it came from. I guess it's par for the course. I really was hoping for feedback on it, I still don't know what that text is.

WOW!!!

Juno,

I have to say that you are the single BEST person when it comes to replicating Harry Potter stuff. The time you take to not only figure it out, but then to age the stuff is duly noted!

I love the fact that you don't settle, and keep tweaking until it is 100% correct!

Pat

That's only because I send you cool stuff. :p
You still doing the Hogwarts crests?

You could send me the master and I can remold it. I have an idea for a leather-bound Hogwarts: A History.

Stuff gets moved around and renamed all the time. I wouldn't sweat it.

Two possible backs. The first was suggested by NikiLenart. The second was my original plan for the back cover. Opinions? Suggestions?

I started to make a copy of the Half Blood Prince Advanced Potion Making using scans from the cover and back seen in the film wizardry book. I used the spine layout from Eliot's copy he posted before.

The film wizardry one looks very close to the screen prop, except for the "Potion Making" text. There are subtle differences so I tried to get it closer to the screen cap.

Will work on adding some light tints of aging with acrylic washes onto the edges soon! Will also attempt to paint in the silver foil parts. Right now the book is empty and is just a cover.

Very nice! Am I seeing a highlight on the prop book's cauldron, or is that a trick of the lighting? Are you printing on canvas or actually texturing your artwork?
