Harry Potter 5 (Umbridge's Proclamations)

Hey guys, i'm new here, and I'm really into graphic design so I thought i'd start trying to recreate paper props. So for my first replicas I thought i'd try something simple and do Dolores Umbridge's Proclamations from "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" I took quite aot of time, making them the correct proportions, finding the fonts (or ones that looked close), Tracking down umbridge's signature, and I even hand-draw some of the stuff that I couldn't find (Including text), I also took the time to position each "M" stamp and Umbridge Signature differentally on EACH one as they are supposed to be either Stamped or Re-Written on EACH one.

Here's what i've done so far, 15 of them, a few of the Fonts (The ones highlighted in dark blue) are off, but other than that I think they're going really well, NOTE: I apologize if my tagging is a little overdone, but i'm really protective over my artwork as you can tell. So again, i hate doing it, but i have to. I'm sorry):

Tell me what you guys think! Again, I sincerly apologize for my tagging. The ACTUAL ones definately aren't tagged nor as bad of quaility. I'll consider putting them up in High-res if enough of you guys want me to, but even so I'd much rather correct the fonts in blue first.

:eek Great work :thumbsup. I did not know there were that much proclamations. You may contact monsters_05 he does great potter replicas, maybe he can tell you what fonts you need to correct the blue highlighted ones. It would be great you could share them with us in the paper prop section of the forum. Again very very nice work :)

If you decided to share them, only share them through email and avoid posting them anywhere. Stuff has been leaking. But sharing them in the free paper section is always welcomed...hint hint!!

I will definately consider the Free Paper Props thread, but I might just stick with sending through e-mail, as I don't want these being sold on eBay or anything but i'd like to get them ALL completedbefore I share any of them, that way I have an accurate full set. And thanks for pointing me towards Monster_05, i've seen some of his replicas, they are AMAZING, i'll see if he knows my missing fonts, the main one i'm concerned about is the font i'm missing in Number 24, because i've been looking and looking for that one but I can't seem to find it, the other missing ones i could probably track down easily enough as there's not much "Uniquness" about them I guess you could say.

Looks good! Do you have screenshots of the font you're looking for? I've got a pretty good eye for that sometimes.

As for the tagging, when screen-accuracy is so important, and the resolution you're presenting them at is low, I don't think I'd bother with it. Especially here. As it is, particularly the one by itself in black and white and so many compression artifacts..it can't be evaluated for quality or accuracy (which is presumably why you'd post them here)

PM'ed you the font!

Nice work one these :thumbsup
hope you can share one of them.

Wesley.

Thank you SO much! I can finish them now!!! :D

I could post some "Detail shots" showing the full Resolution of them if you'd like, they're high-res, and if i'm not satisfiedwith them no one will be. I was actually kind of mad at the inaccuracy of Noble Collection Marauder's Map, I found a fan-made one that was far more accurate. So yeah, i have to get it right, and I think they're close because I used a scan of one of the actual props for my reference, so they should be good.

It might be worthwhile to create a rubber stamp for the M and applying it to each one after printing.

If you do a search on custom rubber stamps then a few sites come up that will make one for you from your own image and for one letter I would not think it would be that expensive.

I had that one made at a costly expense but I can now make my own stamps. This particular one was 3" When I was doing the proc's I printed the numbers on my printer using various shading to make it look like a stamp, the Umbridge sig I just signed myself in red ink.
