Hardcore Henry (Post-release)

Re: Hardcore Henry

Coincidentally, Goonie, this movie is about Henry trying to save the rec-center through dance competitions, as well.

That was interesting. Dumb, but fun. I appreciate what they did. Can someone please explain why/how the dude had the force?

I am a horrible father for taking my 15 yo son.
Actually, I am glad I saw it with him so we could talk about it. He probably would have loved it if he wasn't sitting next to his dad. Yeah, Awkward.

It was a movie that Eric Cartman would write on a south park episode. I enjoyed the novelty of 1st person and the mystery of "Who am I" It was like Jason Borne meets Blaire Wood Project. The extreme violence in Kingsman was supposed to be shocking and horrific. The over the top violence in Henry was for enjoyment.

It's not a bad movie. It is a quintuple bacon cheeseburger fried in lard. OK, if you eat it on a bet. If you loved it and want more, there is something seriously wrong with you.
If you liked this movie. OK
If you hated this movie. Predictable
If you loved this movie. Call a shrink. Check yourself into a facility

The over the top action was pretty much an homage to every first person shooter game out there so it fits in with what they were going for. I think that's the target audience too which means I probably would get bored.

Holy crap, that was the best roller coaster ride I've had in years! I'm still trying to figure out certain things (who was the blonde-guy with the telekinetic powers, what was the point of what they were doing?), all minor quibbles. I didn't go looking for Citizen Kane, I knew this was going to be a goofy exhibition of the ol' ultra violence and that's exactly what I got. Completely satisfied.

And I took my 15-year-old kid, too.

Yes, the reason behind Akan's plan seemed to be completely negligent. Alot bothered me about this movie, it was awesome but some scenes were so over the top. I suppose the fact that Henry was more machine than man was acceptable enough a reason to believe he could decapitate someone with his eye nerves... :lol

But how negligent was Akan? I mean, he killed off a whole group of those super soldiers! A whole literal army of them! He could have had the world taken over by the time he had even ****ed with Henry!

Still, it was probably some of the best action scenes.

Not sure if I regret seeing this, since I chose it over BVS...probably better I haven't seen that yet...:lol

I made the mistake seeing it on a full stomach. The last fight scene was starting to bother me since it was so long with quick moving camera work. It was a fun experience but I don't think I would see it again.

I enjoyed this movie for the novelty aspect. I can appreciate the work that went into this production. However, I am done. Listen up Hollywood, we don't need 15 copycat films being released. I thought this was clever, but I won't sit through another one unless it brings something clever to the table.

I rented it last night with the wife. She made it 5 minutes and went upstairs.

I have a ton of first person shooter games and this movie was nothing but a live action first person shooter. And I loved it. There were many times I was thinking go here, go there..now shoot him then him and they played it out exactly how a good FPS would. Its a blast for a $2 rental with low expectations. But agree, now that it has been done....walk away Hollywood. Yea it has a lot of gore but so does a lot of FPS games. There was also more funny moments than expected, especially from a guy who cant talk.

Spoilers

In the final scene, when the bad guy was levitating bodies, I literally sat up and thought 'Use the floating bodies as a staircase to get the bad guy!!!!' Then it happened. The multiple Copley Avatars was a nice theme.
