Handling metallic paint finishes (Alclad II, SnJ Spray Metal, Testor's Metallizer)

Also have you considered a product called 'Bare Metal Foil'?
http://www.bare-metal.com/ 3 or 4 sheets of their '008 Gold' should be enough to cover a ROTLA fetility idol.

I used that stuff on my X-Wing helmet. It can be a bear to work with at times, depending on the surface, but if you get it on smoothly, it can look really good. As far as handling, as long as you stay away from the edges of the sheets, and sharp objects, you should be good to go.
