Done / Completed Han Solo TFA jacket greeblies, metal or plastic

Any updates for this project?

Hey everyone. My apologies for not updating this. I just moved to a new apartment and everything has been in disarray for a few weeks- I've had zero time to do any work at all. However, it looks like Danny is finally going to start shipping jackets soon, so it's high-time for me to pick this up again as soon as my place stops being a mess of cardboard boxes!

Just a heads-up for everyone. Machine shops here in Sweden shut down during summer (especially July- they used to call it "Industry Holiday"). So, this will pick up in August. By then a lot of Danny's jackets will be sent out already. (For my part, I'm going for a Magnoli.)

UPDATE TIME

Sorry everyone for letting this take so long, but my (hopefully) final blueprint has been sent off to the machinist and I am awaiting his reply (providing he's back from vacation) before I collect payment and have them manufactured.

Ok, everyone. Finally got some info from the machine shop. Bad news is they hiked up the cost quite a bit, but luckily the dollar value exchange rate is higher now than when I got the first quote so it'll eat the difference. One small change: They will be solid aluminum and not hollow. Alu weighs so little I don't think it'll make much of a difference.

I will be sending out payment info shortly to get this run going.

It's still not too late to sign up!

Waiting on three more payments before having the machinist begin. Still time to get in for newcomers.

Aluminum is the only way to fly.
Heya! I sent out payment info a while back. Since we are at the bare minimum to get the run going, I need everyone to send payment ASAP so that I can tell the machinist to start making the cylinders.

In for aluminum set when ready.

Everyone has now paid up and I have given the machinist the order to start turning them. Waiting on an ETA.

Thanks for making this happen everyone!

Hey again. I got the go-confirmation from the machinist and should have them in 3-4 weeks. I'll try to have everything ready for shipping when they arrive so that I can just drop them in the mail.

Look what came in today!

I did a quick weathering test with some Citadel color wash ("nuln oil").

Really happy with how these turned out. I was a bit nervous because the tolerances are VERY small but the machinist did a fantastic job. I'll be inspecting and packing these up for shipping over the coming days. For those that missed the run, I got a few extras that will go up in the junkyard soon.

WOW, Joatrash! I'm really thrilled to see these!
They look FANTASTIC :):thumbsup

Question:
That weathering you did with the 'nuln' oil... Is that something we can request to have done on the ones we've ordered?
Speaking for myself, I'd love to have my three looking THAT cool!

Thanks! I'm glad the machinist came through. I can do the weathering on a couple sets if folks specifically ask for it ASAP. (Not sure how much wash I have left before I need to make a run to the GW store haha.)

These look fantastic! I'm really excited to get them. Thanks for your work on them!

I'm glad to have made 'em! (Now I just have to get a jacket myself...)

any extras can pay now thanks

Sent you a PM. I have maybe 4-5 sets extra right now.
