Han Solo ANH Blaster From RIA, Prev on Pawn Stars

Thank you everyone for bringing us these!

Good eye teecrooz, needs inspection.

Also given the story of backups, that would suggest this bill barrel was done back then too. Does the underside transition on this separate gun match the hero guns transition?

Great images. Wish they were of the original!

Good new details on the scope tho.

Those "divots" are odd. I wonder if Karl used a clamp or alignment tool fixture to hold the mount when machining.? No real reason for them I can see. Karl?

I'm not saying there WEREN'T multiple parts made... I think there MAY have been two uppers... but that's it. Lowers... I don't think so. We KNOW the scope mount was used on the M712 in sitting target, and then the upper was in NR. That NR upper IS the Star Wars upper. There could be two uppers... Sweeny, NR, Star Wars... but we only see verified evidence of ONE.

Backups? I don't think so. Well not in the sense that a whole prop was duplicated and made two or three times over. The Mauser is so modular, an armorer like Bapty could easily and DID mis-match bits as needed for function.

Agree.

Tony mentioned "dummy" scopes and mounts. Never seen ANY sign or suggestion of such but boy would that be nice to see casts off the original.

I don't suppose we have any photos showing the back of the original mount? Those little dots run around both sides (ring and cradle) and I can't figure out why... even if something was mounted there you'd think there would be excess material. unless those dots were drilled for more surface area to glue something there temporarily!

No photos THAT clear to see such detail. Not from ST or SW I know of.

Nobody in their right mind would drill tiny dots to glue something on... but then again... ; )

I suspect they come from a clamp or jig to hold/align the upper and lower rings.?

Strange. I'll ask Dave if he has any ideas.

BTW, that front view FH ALMOST let us see the barrel muzzle. I tried enhancing but it was too dark.! I could see a bit of the bore But didn't look like the tiny restrictor of the HERO.

Not the same as the HERO but I'd like to see it with the FH off... Anyone game?

Yea… only general shapes/sizes :(

You’re right lol the dots make no sense

I’ve definitely added surface detail to glue things though, that’s a model making trick

Could be from an odd technique for indexing, possibly? If so, that could link the rings and cradle...though no way to know without Karl to chime in with literally anyone at this point.

No reason to index on the side like that that I can see.

I asked dave to give opinion

Maybe a specialized jig clamp for split rings?

Maybe I’m in the minority here but once you start noticing this blaster is more of another SW cash grab it starts to lose a bit of its shine. Probably one of the reasons for all the blurred details surrounding it. It’s been 45 years since the OG prop was originally put together. I have a hard time believing Karl remembers anything from 45 years ago let alone a prop he built for a little sci-fi film that at the time most were writing off.

Just look at how professional this PS flash hider has been reworked over the past 2 1/2 years since it first appeared. That’s certainly not by mistake. It definitely looks better and I for one would love to see how they did it but it’s still simply reworked to fetch a pretty penny.

Once someone starts fabricating the truth it’s hard to believe anything that comes out of their mouth. This props ONLY value is the scope and top rings. Those parts if authentic could easily fetch over a 100k alone. The rest… no real SW value. Just BS to create a sale. Unless you put value on anything and everything that might have been in Baptys warehouse at the time SW was made.

Here is something that I personally haven’t seen or noticed before. If this is in fact the real scope there is something very unique about it. The inside back lens retainer. The groves are really quite big.. I’ve personally never seen that on a hensolt scope before?

Barrels too short on the PS vs HERO. Overall length is short and also visible exposure of the barrel.

He did do a nice job refinishing the FH but I wonder/doubt if it is vintage. The first finish was very modern looking. I have never seen a "pristine" looking vintage MG81 FH. Usually pretty beat up. And the knurl is wrong.

Vintage FH from actual mg81 WITH booster. We modeled our DEC model booster/barrel spacer on it.
NOTE the Bullet shaped knurls.

A sign that the scope and mount were separated- as we know. Gap on HERO spacing.

Karl said they had 3 Mausers with "cut barrels" before SW. Maybe not all with bull barrels?
HERO/NR and the TV show version with the mounts on the left side. ( Can't remember the name) And maybe the below?

This image of an unknown blaster was taken from the Bapty site a while back. Someone posted it. Can't remember.

Cut barrel. And look at the scope... Looks to me like a HW3x style but looks painted with white chips? Could this be one of the cast dummies' Tony was talking about? And one of the CUT BARREL Mausers Karl mentioned?

Would love to hear more about this blaster history.
