I am putting the Reach Laser on hold for a bit due to a commissioned suit build. It will be interesting to see just how fast I can build it ;p. I am using the following files, as well as a scratch built Cod Piece, scratch built Shin Piece. Also not sure if I will be using a helmet I currently Have or if I will be making a new helmet to add. To all the file creators thanx in advance ;p

Now on to the build progress, In the last 2 days I've pepped both shoulders, the chest, and built the front to the cod piece, later today I plan to build its back.

More progress, Started Hardening the pep files today. Also decided that I would do the Reach EOD helmet with this suit build.

More work today:
rondo'ed the inside of the shoulders, the chest, and the Eod Helmet. Then I slushed some smoothcast 320 inside. Then did some sanding, some bondo-work, more sanding, more bondo work, more sanding, more bondo work, more sanding, more bondo work, Then put some Fiber class on the top to help "smooth" the chest face, and to help round out the arm holes. Here's some shots of today's work

today's progress:

Continued "leveling: the chest piece (which took most of the day). Worked on the front Facing of the chest mostly, and the Shoulder vent parts. Also Glassed the neck part on the outside to help level it. I may leave it as just glass because of the nice texture... Not sure though. Started glassing the cod piece, which I will work on in between coats of the chest. Also started leveling the back of the chest today. Hope to have the chest done and ready for molding this Sunday, if things keep going this "smooth" ;p

And now the pics:

Got the front "facing" of the chest plane-ed out to a shape I like finally, so I'm moving on to the rest of the piece now. I've got the two shoulder bumps sized up and "squared" off, and started plane-ing out the back. I've decided that the back wasn't out far enough for me so I added some cardboard to increase it's height the "cheap" way. After glassing that over I started smoothing with bondo when I hit my time limit for today. So without further delay here are today's progress pics.

Not much done yesterday. More sanding on the chest, cut out the Neck part so that I can make if more accurate, and resumed work on the Gauntlet.

WOW, the detail of that pep armor is nice and streamlined! Doesnt appear to need much filling at all. Where the hell have I been lately?!? :lol good work so far!

Started doing detail work on the front of the chest today. Also did a lot of bondo work on the "Padding" area to start smoothing it out. Got the Gauntlet to 98% complete (just have to sand it and prep for molding). Also worked on the cod a bit with left-over bondo, still needs a lot of work but the suits progressing nicely.

well I pretty much scrapped this and started over, here are some Current Updates on the new suit:
New Grenadier helmet: Added some bondo to the back to even out the back curve-ears sections. Added basic details to ears (not final). Patched my first real big oops on the chin-fin, It broke when I dropped the helmet yesterday. I realize I haven't posted a lot of progress over here, but I will try and catch this thread up to the 405th thread. Or at least post some of the finished parts ;p

Grenadier helmet is now almost done. Just waiting for the glue to dry on the ear details so that I can trim them down, then I have a couple of parts to patch up in the back rim of the helmet and this puppies done. Here are the updates from my second venture out into the heat today. Mostly clean up and the details on the ears and the temples for today.
