Halo Elite Covenent Skull - Predator Style Trophy

Hi again everyone!

I've just finished taking these photos of my latest project. It's the skull of an "Elite" from Halo. The main skull is Fibreglass with a resin skin, and the jaws and teeth are resin.

This idea came to me when there was a thread on here a few weeks back about trying to find alien skulls to add to a Predator trophy display. That night I went and played some xbox and the two came together. I was sculpting the next day!

As far as I know the only time you see this skull in game is when you select the Legendary difficulty at the menu. It's a bit stylised in that image, I wanted it to feel a bit more real, so I added a bit more texture and deatils to the surface than can be seen on the referance. I also didn't include the bullet hole in the "cranium" of the original sculpt, but I might add one to this cast later on.

Also, please excuse the hot glue holding the jaws onto the skull! it's just holding things in place before I fibreglass then on.

Yeah it's full size, here's a WIP shot of the raw cast in my hand so you can get an idea..

I'll also update my first post to include the "Legendary" logo for a bit of comparison too.

Hey, I searched and searched to see who else had done one of these but came up with nothing! Do you have a link to photos of Link's display? It would be great to see another interpretation!

This piece measures approx 43cms (17ins) long, from the back of the skull to the lower edge of the jaws, and is approx 20cms (8ins) wide.

I think I'm going to mock up a shield and swords for this guy in foamboard today, just to see how it looks "framed"

One question, and I hope this isn't pointing out anything glaring. The skull seems to be opened instead of closed like a human skull. I'm not familiar with this creature, is this how its skull is constructed? It looks like a shell, is the "Elite" some form of insect?
