Looks quite interesting...although I'm dying to know, how did he get that armor upgrade? *crosses finger for some form of reveal soon!*

The latest Halo novel, Glasslands, set after Halo 3 has a brief throw away line that I think 343 Industries had slipped in there setting up a possible explanation for the new armor the Chief is wearing in the trailer.

At one point, after suiting up SPARTAN II Naomi-010 in her MJOLNIR armor a comment is made along the lines of “MJOLNIR armor has nanites in it that will repair and update the armor while a SPARTAN is in cyro-sleep.”

Looks like 343i might be setting us up to explain away the Chief’s new armor by saying it fixed and upgraded itself while he was in Cyro between Halo 3 and 4.(Even though we have never heard anything about any sort of nano-technology at all before in the Halo Universe :rolleyes )

Oh really? Thanks a bunch for sharing that, at least it makes a bit more sense, to me the new armor somewhat resembles dead space haha

Just a small update, Im working on 3 diffrent projects at the moment one being and ODST Build, so progress on this helmet has been a bit slow but I have managed to work on it here and there so far I hardened it with Smooth Cast 320 and resined the outside with fiberglass resin now im just getting everything smoothed out but with all the details on the helmet sanding in those areas is a pain so it really slows down progress but im about done with the smoothing process then comes the detail process, I still need to cut out the visor so I can work on the frame around the visor which you can see in the pics, still looks a little ruff, I should have the smoothing process done here in a few days
    Thanks for checking this out

Very nice. There are some slight bumps, but, eh, who am I to judge? From the pics, be careful around the visor. Still, awesome build, definitely would not mind getting my hands on the pdo files.

I know I haven't updated in a while, but I have started doing all the detail work on the helmet, Im about halfway done, hope you guys like it, next update should be completed, I hope

I still need to finish details under the brim and make the indents in the mouth part of the helmet
    [IMG]
Back of the helmet, im working with very limited refrence pics and also the pep model is not exact to existing pictures, so this is the best I can do on the back, I still have a few details to add
    [IMG]
Top of the helmet, I still need to use some epoxy clay on the bumps to make them look like refrece photos I have, im refering to the 2 raised area towards the middle top of the helmet
    [IMG]

The visor that is in the helmet is just stuck in place, I plan to use a gold visor once the helmet is completed, this is just a temporary one till the helmet gets molded

@ Moose, The pep model was a beast to pep out, don't think I will do one like that again, I really did it for the challange, and it definatly challanged me

Glad all of you guys like how its looking
Well I have an update, I pretty much finished up all the detail work so the helmet is just about finished, tomorrow I plan to paint a base coat of green on it, seal any open areas and send it to my friend so he can cast it, so this should be the last set of pics of it in primer gray, I had to do alot of bondo sculpting in the nose area to kind of make it resemble the Halo 4 helmet in the Halo 4 adds, let me know what you think, I will post some pics of it tomorrow with a green base coat so you guys can see it in a diffrent color than gray, Hope you guys like it

Thanks guys for the comments, don't look like to many people here are into Halo builds so my next build will be something diffrent

Finally finished with this helmet for the time being, Since its going to be molded next week I just put a gloss green paint on it so the cast will look good, once its molded I may finish the paint job on the original helmet but I rather paint a cast because this helmet has a little weight to it from all the body work, Since im finished with this helmet I now can finish putting together my Reach foam suit for MegaCon, Blackula who is a member on this site will be making the mold for this helmet for me so hopefully he will post the molding process in this thread

    Here you go Hyper.

    Before the precious goo!

Print Layer = 3 layers of Rebound25 (I’m hoping this will pick up all the detail)

Thickened layer = 2 large layers of Dragon Skin fast10 because its quick.

Added keys on first thick layer

Built up the ridge and smoothed out any ugly holes

Well, that’s a preview of what’s to come. Just need to make the shell tonight and hopefully get some castings going by tomorrow night.

    to be continued….

    Thanks for viewing

Very nice work. But, design-wise for 343 Industries, shouldn't the Halo 4 helmet be the exact same helmet/armor as Halo 3?

I still need to sand the jacket some, but I may go straight into casting because I have man hands and some work gloves to throw on. :)

I shoud have some castings going tonight. Hyper, I'll send you the ugliest casting for you to work on...lol.

    Thanks guys,

    Take two:

:DREMIX!! They see me rollin’…lol. Ok, enough nonsense. I present to you, the remold of the FoSho!

This time, things went a lot better. Tried something new recommended by my man Hyper and I believe this mold will do. See pics below:

Put it on a tripod, so I could pivot the model around and get the silicone to get into all the details better
