halo 3 to ship with a replica helmet!

Are we talking about a Kellog's clonetrooper helmet type of deal? Any pics or descriptions?

From what I was told at Gamestop two days ago, the Legendary version will ship w/ a full on highly detailed Master Chief helmet. While I bit on it, and reserved one, do I think it will be as bitchin' as something outa here? Nahhhhh, but at roughly $40-added to the cost of the Halo3 game, I had to do it. They couldn't say it if it was 1/1 scale, I'm thinking it'll probably be smaller. Wearable? Doubt it, probably be just a nice display piece.
There's three versions of the game- Regular, Collectors (in a metal tin, like the last one) or the Legendary w/ helmet.
But, it'll sell out fast, no doubt about that.

That sucks, I would have paid an extra 100 for a full size helmet like the one they picture on the site, nice, but I dislike scaled things. :confused

And the release date is November 1st 2007. Talk about an advance order...
thats the only sad/irritating thing about this for me.
its a scaled helmet, which is cool, but its not a very accurate scaled helmet. i think it would be a lot easier to make a 1/3rd scale helmet ultra accurate instead of a 1:1 version.
still. i think its safe to assume they went ahead with the "ultra" pre order since its halo, and unless they change the game to something horrible... i doubt bungie is going to have much trouble finding a market.

hmmm.... well depending on how close to acurate it is it could be vacuformed to make a slightly larger version that could be sold as a kit or something. I'm not sure how close this would be to the general term of recasting but they'd probably make their $100 back

The helmet is slightly larger than a DVD case. It wouldn't even fit a child.
Yeah, my brother is the guy that did the halo 2 helmet a couple threads down. I saw this the other day and emailed him saying he may have missed the boat if the replica helmet was a decent one. He was excited to read that it's a scaled replica to use as a case for the box set. Still a cool idea though.
