Halo 3 Grenade WIP

Hey all im new to the forums. Just want to post some of my current projects.
My current project is the H3 Frag Granade.
I first sculpted it out of clay and then made the first molds of it. I just pull the first cast of it today. I still have alot of clean up
to do before I make a new molds of it. Then I will clean and paint. It comes in two peices (top/bottom).
here are the pics.

Here it is taken apart. I have it so you can screw it in.

Here is the clay version. Its a bit worse for wear after pulling the molds.

Thanks I still have alot of work and cleanup then I can make new cleaner molds and then I can paint.

Welcome to the RPF and great job on the Halo 3 frag granade
I would love to have one or two also
I like the detail and the fact that is screws together
any plans to make a shield granade

Thanks glad to finally make the registration here. I miss it everytime.
Anyway I think my next project will be the spike granade.
I will start an interest thread for the fraggen thing when I finish it.
That is if I can being a new member and all oh well we'll see.

UPDATE 12/31/07 Halo 3 Granade WIP

Here is an update. I have the final molds done and cast the bottom half, but need to pick up more material to cast the new top. This is a quick test paint mainly on the lower half. The top half is an old cast so I threw some quick paint on it.

Here it is with the top half the new mold is made from.

@Saberfreak the ring is actually a ring that I machined out of a solid peace of stainless steel. It is my wedding ring. I made my wife one as well, but smaller of course. I made these to match my real wedding ring that I got married with. It is white gold with diamonds. I made them so me and my wife could have rings that we can beat up and not ruin our real ones. Here is a pic of my two.

What are the screw in bits made of?

They are solid resin now, but I just used pvc threads inside of the clay scuplture to get the threads.

What is that plastic threaded thing? Where did it come from?

they are just pvc from the local hardware store in the plumbing section. I sculpted the clay around them to get the threads when I made molds.
