Halloween costumes air mag conversion

Odd that you don't see other people who have MAGs. There are at least 10 pair of v2 here in Brisbane including a black pair. There are a heap of HCs as well.

The smooth sides just look sleek. It is the lack of seams that I really like about the MAG. I don't even mind the lack of branding here.

So rather than throw $100USD ($130AUD) at these, I might just have a go at uppers made from the real MAG patterns now that my sewing machine is all working with the new super-duper thread. The last few goes at this were either hand sewn (not fun) or machine sewn with a standard cotton that would break if too much tension was placed on it (as happens with a shoe upper), so I shelved it. This thread can not be broken with your hands and will cut you if wrapped around your fingers when you try and break it.

I have a new really nice micro fibre leather (so it breaths, unlike other synthetics) to make the uppers from. The only issue is the grey I have is very dark, but does look nice with the white. I think for a test pair it will be fine.

Funny that they made flat lace.
Do you think that in the year 2050 they will have they perfectly done ? xD

Please don't make us wait that long. I hope by next year they have the more accurate version.

Just been chatting to HC, they say they can't guarantee if you will get shoes with or without the stripes [emoji52]

Because they still have a heap of the old stock. If you ask them to pick you a pair, they may send you a bad pair. Just read the comments by stprime

Maybe I'll have to go to more conventions. ;) There's that thing in Fitzroy on Wednesday (BTTF day) so maybe there.
Yep, never seen anyone else in Melbourne with even the V1s. There were a couple of 1985 Martys there at AMC and Claudia Wells too.

Yeah I thought that's what it may have been. Must be in certain sizes though as I would have thought they wouldn't have sent any flat ones out until all of the old style were gone from their stock.

Just read through, not sure which comments you are talking about.

Guess it's just a lottery then. I'll wait for the future and see once the old stock is gone.

If you read stprime 's story, he went through 3 pairs and got things ranging from non-working lights through to deformed shoes. And the interesting part is that several of use all were communicating with the same sales rep, so it almost like what was done was done on purpose.

sorry I must have went back far enough to read those comments.

Thats awful if if that's what they did. Shame cos I'd like some smooth sided pairs but I'll steer clear and stick with what I have for now. Especially being based in the UK, would be a nightmare returning them, exchanging etc

Just got my HC Mags last Thursday and noticed that while they were similar, they definitely were not screen accurate. Obviously I knew this before I bought them. So are there any mods I should do before I wear them on BTTF Day (Oct. 21st)?

Toe slim. Do a steam toe slim as that is the easiest to do.

There was a TINY little local con on Saturday so I threw together a super quickie Marty 2015 look and wore my HC Mags (with markpoon decals!) and HOLY CRAP people were going NUTS over them. I think the vast majority of people don't have any idea the HC versions are out there, let alone that they're far from screen accurate.

The sheer joy people had checking them out made it a ton of fun to wear them!

I totally agree. I wore my HCs (Without any logos on them) to NYCC and people were freaking out because they thought I was wearing $5,000 shoes. haha
