Halloween costumes air mag conversion

The only way to make the SWOOSH sit flat will be either remove the foam from under the shell (which means pulling the shoe apart, so something you don't want to do at this stage), or make a 'sacrificial' foam SWOOSH, cut it into smaller sections, glue the bits in between the laces and then glue the SWOOSH over the top.

On the V2's, there is an impression in the ridges which matches the swoosh. It appears the impression was made before the swoosh was applied. Since the foam can be remolded when steamed, perhaps a swoosh shaped hot metal wrapped in cloth or something was used? I imagine it could be done at home in small stages, though it would be fiddly.

I agree with Cavx, the easiest way would be to cut segments to suit between the ridges, glue them in so there is a relatively flat surface, and then glue the swoosh over the top of all that. Just apply a thin 'painted on' layer of the glue if you can, as you don't want the glue squishing out the side and discolouring the material when you press it down. You can always add more glue if it isn't enough, but too much can be disastrous.
(note: I don't have the HC's as I already had the V2s so I'm not speaking from experience with them, sorry)

Picked up some new insoles from FootCanvas on Etsy. Feel free to use my code. "NU20" or "NUW20" for 20% off.

It's okay any advice is greatly appreciated! I placed the swoosh on the shoe with the self adhesive backing it has and it only covers up 2 of the laces so I'll try the foam bits idea and see how that works out.

Cant get my laces flat! Is there a special techinque requred besides ironing?

Not really. The issue is that they packed excess foam inn there, so unless you want to remove the sole to get that out, there is not much you can do. Ironing for that period of time is likely to discolour or even burn the fabric.

I noticed Jedifyfe posted on instagram that he had a guy doing the clear and icy blue sole castings. Do anybody know where I can get them from and how much they run?

I am doing those and the thread is in the Junk Yard. I don't think I am allowed to provide links directly, so PM sent.

Hey guys I'm just starting the conversion and the kit from ebay is no longer avalible. How should i make the swoosh?/ Could anyone send me a to-scale picture of it? Any help would be very appreciated.

Btw If anyone cares the new halloweencostumes replicas no longer have the fat laces on the side.

Mark's decals are purely the best for HC mags, the only suggestion i would do to you if you plan to use your mags for more than display is to glue the letters with the loctite's hybrid glue.

It will resist to water, hits, it's flexible, and the most important it is transparent and nearly gives you 3 minutes to move the letters a bit, but the bad side of this glue is that you have to keep in place what you stick for 5 minutes.
If you prefer a faster glue then i suggest you the professional glue from loctite, but only use it with gloves. ;)

My suggest is to first put the letters on the heel cup at the place and the way you want it to be with the original glue.
I used this picture to try to make it like the originals mags but and the best advice is to use the couture that's upper the heel cup as center of the letter positioning

Then take out one by one the letters, peal out the glue of the letter with your finger and then put the loctite glue.
I personally used a strap on the heel cup to make the letters be perfectly straight.

For the swoosh you'll find out by yourself that the cut Mark did is perfect and will make it easyly to put in place, but i very higly suggest you to put loctite's hybrid glue too, put first a very thin layer after removing orignal glue, the easyest way to apply to loctite's glue on the swoosh is to wear a glove and apply the glue all over the swoosh with it, then try to walk a bit after and see where you need to put a bit more, just don't put too much and take your time to do it, so after your swoosh won't move anymore whatever you're doing.

Hope this helped you, if you have any further question do not hesitate to pm me.

If you could post some pictures of the new HC mags version with more flat laces i would be very curious to see it, and if the toe box is still horrible as i used to be i highly suggest you to watch cavx iron steam toe box mod, it's the easyest, safest and best way to modify it.

I ordered a pair of these as soon as they were announced, which turned out to be tricky but oh so worth it. I now have two pairs of these so that I can wear one around and keep the other nice and pristine. I want to mod these to make them more accurate. Mostly I think slimming the toe and adding the swoosh/lettering. Also a repaint if I get time. Maybe at some point I might do some additional lighting. I've looked into a bunch of mods on these things, but I thought I'd ask if anyone who's done this before has any tips or regrets/warnings before I start working. Any preferences on steaming vs cutting the toe box? Thanks in advance:D

Watch my YouTube Videos (look me up as cavx01). I have done both and in the end a combination of both is needed but the cut up method is best.

So I bought does beautiful custom shoes from HalloweenCostumes.
