CURRENTLY UPGRADING TO 00-RAISER

Just wanted to share my 00 Gundam Cosplay from Gundam 00 last October 2015 at Cosmania 2015

I have been very interested on doing a gundam cosplay in the last 2 years but I haven't got a hold of time and budget for one, the last one I'm building on my other thread was scrapped due to the fact that its too big for the event venue.

I started building this late December 2014, that time I only finished the head and the torso area of the costume.

Comparison to my MG 1/100 00 Gundam, close enough.

Since I have commissions that time from January to April 2015 for the Age of Ultron premier, I haven't got a hold of time to work on this guy on the longest time, I got back working on this mid-September 2015, just because I was depressed and I really need to get my attention elsewhere, and I really miss cosplaying that time so. . I worked on the boot of the costume.

These boots are in a platform made of foam, also based on Clive Lee's tutorial, it adds 7" to the wearer. And yes thats my old Van's from my Mark 7 Thread.

So moving on. . .2 days after I finished the boots I got the shoulders done. I have another commission during this time but I have time to build this, and since the annual Cosmania is getting near, I'm on a rush building this guy.

I also built the waist area, but this one is inaccurate and so flat, so I scrapped this part

And here comes the test fitting of the upper parts with the back pack on (not the 0-Raiser, it won't happen). I can feel the pressure of the back at the moment here, and those GN Drive arms are a problem because they can't stay in position because of two reasons: one they are made in foam, and two, the man GN Drive compartment is effing heavy.

The helmet is already painted here.

Moving ooonnnn and I've got the legs done! :)

The other pair is for a female Gundam Exia cosplay for my friend.

I haven't got pictures of the work in progress during painting the costume. But here's some shots of the helmet, on and off lights.

And the GN Drive Back pack.

I'm still missing the turbine detail below but I'll add those on the near future.

---------------------------------------AND THE TIME HAS COME--------------------------------------

Working on this huge costume in a rush (3 weeks) requires alot of patience and Red Bull :)) but I got my anxiety attacks worse in the process.

Here's the not-so-final product. I still going to add some decals on it based on the Master Grade Model. Also, I only have one GN Sword II here, but the thing is, its transformable manually to riffle mode to sword mode. Some shots are blurry, sorry for that. :)

As you can see in the pictures, the proportion is almost on the spot, but lacking supports on the knee and the elbow makes it funky looking. And also notice the GN Sword II's sword and riffle modes. :)

I've been cosplaying full mecha costumes during Cosmania here in the Philippines, and here's some recent cosplay I've done in the last 3 years in Cosmania. :)

Thank you for viewing bruhs, I hope this thread inspires alot gundam fans there to build one, if not for cosplay purposes, why not build a static display together with your model kits. That would be fun, that's what therpf.com is all about. Fun :)

Peace. :)

Looks brilliant, I'm currently in the process of gathering all info to build my first Victory Gundam.

Looking forward on your build bruh :thumbsup

Victory Gundam is a great choice, the simpler the design, the easier to build :) What material you will be using on your build though? :)

Re: 00 Gundam Cosplay [PIC HEAVY]

Thanks, I will be building mine out of cardboard just need decent reference from all angles.

I have looked at the clivelee post and was wondering what one he was building in his tutorial as might do that to see how it turns out.

Yey! Nice I love cardboard gundam builds :) Looking forward to that mate.

I think in his recent Star Build Strike cosplay, he used an "upgraded" method of his methods in his thread. I followed his tutorials and pretty much worked so far, but I need to think of my own method on the arm joints, I might get it fixed soon similar to my Iron-Man Builds. His own 00-Raiser Cosplay had the same problem as mine, the design flaw on the arms makes the costume somewhat funky.

I will be upgrading the 00 Gundam by next week for an upcoming event here in our area so this thread will be alive soon *yey*. And by upgrade I mean I'll be building the 0-Raiser and the GN Sword III :)

Hopefully I can share some tips on how I built mine so that it could help you and anybody else for there mecha builds.

Re: 00 Gundam Cosplay [PIC HEAVY]

Can't wait to see the updated version.

Fingers crossed that I can get my suit finished, not short of any cardboard lol

Might head over to 405th and see what they say as well

Keep us updated on your progress as very interested in your builds

Re: 00 Gundam Cosplay [PIC HEAVY]

Working on my own GN Sword III model for pepakura. Should be ready to unfold and built tomorrow.

Got the 0-Raiser 3D model imported to Pepakura Designer. Pretty much accurate to my RG 1/144 Scale 00-Raiser. Will do a little unfolding session for the 0-Raiser and side binders.

And I forgot to mention that, majority of the costume parts are pepakura based, scaled perfectly to fit my measurements and modified for clive lee's tutorials :thumbsup so pretty much clive lee's method mixed with foam building with pepakura :)

Re: 00 Gundam Cosplay (0-Raiser W.I.P.) [PIC HEAVY]

I got some pep files emailed to me by a guy on here which was great, just need to buy some ink so I print them off, not sure what gundam it of though

I think that one is for a "Basic" Gundam head. Can be used on any gundam head designs, since its almost identical to the RX-78-2 Original Gundam. I think iforelskelseyou has a better file for that on his thread.

Yeah its the RX78, just looked on the other thread and now have all the files. Now just have to remember how to use pep designer to resize correctly as not used it for years.

Also found a model that I might purchase to aid in the construction http://japan-cool.co.uk/epages/950003803.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/950003803/Products/BAN70949

Cant wait to see how yours comes along and will open my own thread so I don't keep posting here lol

Its ok to post here bruh, I may able to help you with your build also so just sharing information is good :thumpsup

Re: 00 Gundam Cosplay (0-Raiser W.I.P.) [PIC HEAVY]

Just ordered a 1/100 RX78NT to help me with the build process ;)

Re: 00 Gundam Cosplay (0-Raiser W.I.P.) [PIC HEAVY]

Oh hell yeah! :D You should be able to do additional details to your costume that doesn't show on the pep file with that model kit :thumbsup

That's what I was thinking, will be able to get a decent view of the scale. Also been watching the series as well to help me :D its been years since I last watched it lol

Re: 00 Gundam Cosplay (0-Raiser W.I.P.) [PIC HEAVY]

Yeah watching the series hypes you up. I'm listening to Opening Songs from Gundam 00 at the moment while building the fuselage of the 0-Raiser. Should be finished today and post some progress here.
