So I've decited to start to build this up, I wanted to just leave it as it is, a superior and beautiful cast of the concept PKD from blade runner, but cant help myself, this thing is a real beauty and cant wait to start on it. If anybody has any pics of there's post em, so I can get some ideas, I have the correct paint codes and know how to build it, but i'd still love to see some other peoples guns!

And as I posted this above, the second it went up, on the special features of the new blade runner final cut i'm watching, they had a little peice on the artist who made this, pretty damn incredible, the peice i'm holding in my hand was made by the same person who made the peice i'm watching on tv

I built one in the Spring of 2003.

I hollowed it out, exposing the "vents" in the body and barrel, so that I could cram it with leds.

The trigger activates 6 multicolor leds in the main body which strobe.
These strobe for approximately 2 seconds, which are then followed by a bright flash from the strobe tube in the barrel tip. The backwash is visible through the front vents as well.

The batteries are accessible via the machined thumbwheel which serves as a battery cover on the top rear of the gun.

Once I cleaned up the seam lines, I gave the gun a coat of gloss enamel black paint. Some is visible as the rounded edges of the grip area. The grip's diamond knurl was painted in flat black, and the rest of the gun was airbrushed with Allclad Chrome, wheee!

Actually, the artist who scratch built that piece is Shawn Morgan (from the concept sketch by Syd Mead). The guy holding the gun is Gary Willoughby, who runs bladezone.com.

this is the first I've seen of this concept design.
It is a very unique and cool looking design. Especially all dolled up.
But MAN am I glad they didn't go with this design.

I just watched that featurette this morning! That DVD set has so much fascinating stuff. . . my brain is still trying to catch up with my eyes. :)
I'd love to pick up one of those concept blasters at some point to add to my slowly-growing BR collection.
