The vest has been shown quite a few times before. The Entertainment Weekly photoshoot showed it off very clearly. (It isn't red, but more of a dark orange-brown, like the trench.)

My only concern would be that you get the worn reddish/maroon color of the jacket down correctly as seen in the movie, and the arm straps done screen accurately as no one else has been able to do. You have not disappointed yet! Looking forward to purchasing yours!

Indeed, because it's another Pandora's box of complexity what with having to handle the details in the vest portion of it. It looks as though the vest is worn under the trench, which means sourcing another of those hard to find zippers, to say nothing of the extra valve on the right panel.

Edit: Sorry for the redundant redundancy regarding mention of the vest...but here! Pictures! :D

New jacket arrived today--so much better!

It's heavier than the "fjackets" version is. I also went up a size. The first jacket was a little snug and slightly too short. This one is definitely longer (somewhere between the two would be ideal), but the overall fit is better. It isn't as tight on me, but it isn't too big either. The color is just about the same as the fjacket version, and the snaps are actually two piece snaps (so you could unsnap them if you wanted to--not sure why you would!)

Overall I'm very pleased with this one. The only mods I see myself doing to it are adding the patch and port, switching out the zipper, switching out the grey webbing for elastic (to match the elastic I'll use on my pants), and weathering/dirtying it up a bit.
 
Wow! Love it, Kevin. I may have missed it, but where did you get that version? I'm assuming it's not from fjjackets based on your post...
 
Yeah,I just received the same one Kevin has pictured. Very happy with it, but will of course be making some mods. Definitely need to add the angle to the sleeve cuffs and replace the zipper, but other than that, the rest is just the sci fi details. (The valve, patch and the raised "circuit board" type details).

Also, it seems to be a pretty decent jacket just in general. Heavier than I anticipated.
 
Totally just saw a guy at the mall wearing a Star-Lord jacket. Didn't have time to stop and see if he was a member, but I had to do a double take! :lol

I found this jacket on ebay, and noticed that it's pretty similar, is it the same as yours?
