Just bought a working RC-6025 in really good condition today...just needs a good cleaning Im going to rig it with an mp3 player internally to play the song at 6.00... I saw a guy on youtube recently did the same...Will be my hobby between now and GroundHog day. Ive always like this movie for some reason and the holiday itself too. Ive been wanting one of these radios now for a few years and plan to use it in my bedroom with a recreated night/phone stand as seen in the movie...I do have a matching telephone and flower vase as seen in the movie... I'll have the alarm turned on the days I have to wake at 6.00 but the other days the alarm will be turned off and I'll use my other alarm clock. And fyi there are a few 6025's for sale currently online for those of you looking...My goal last year was to go to Pennsylvania for 2-2-2014 but I'll settle for the the clock this year, and aim for Pennsylvania for next year (2015)...well is past my bedtime ....Once I get it all rigged up I'll post a video on youtube and put a link here. G-nite
All you need is an FM transmitter that plugs into your mp3 player. Set the alarm station to match the transmitter, and play the clip on repeat. Then when the time comes, it'll transmit the clip over the radio with absolutely zero modification.

My first Post Here. Hurray.
I happen to be the "guy" referred to above. Someday I may post a "how to" on doing this. I used a AC/DC converter and a MP3 Module. I altered the clock's PCB so that the "Alarm" setting set off the MP3. I'm still not ready to spill the beans entirely because I'm still selling a few on ebay.
I have also converted the RC6015 to play Huey Lewis's "Back In Time" as in "Back To The Future." That was much harder!
I also had posted a service on ebay to covert a clock to play the clip, but this lady sent me an RC6001 and I had a substantial amount of trouble getting all the components in there. The RC6025 has a alot of extra room. There's no way doing this is going to earn me any real money. But it's still fun.
But you know ... what I'm finding is that most people want the clock original. The GHD clock I have (and use) on my nightstand is unaltered (really, who actually wants to wake up to that).
You may not believe this but the first clock I configured sold for $500.00 on eBay. Seriously. He must have been a little eccentric. But the next "only" went for $175.
The 21st anniversary of the movie is coming up!! 2/12/2014

This is cool. I think the key is to take the fm transmitter idea, and if you are using it as a daily radio, work out the exact timing of dead air to add to the start/end of the track playing through the transmitter, so at the allotted time the sound plays as it does in the movie.
I did the knobs in 3D so I could print them at Shapeways. But some of them are very fine and it turned out to be pricey to print them all in
high resolution white acrylic. I was planning to convert the RC-6030 and use the white knobs. Another project I never finished. :facepalm
