Gremlins Bathroom Buddy

The nail clipper you were supposed to get looks like the one to me, that ridge-like contour along the top is a dead ringer, bummer you were sent the wrong one. Your butler toothbrushes very much look the part too, and a spare if you screw up adding the tube. Lol
Congrats on obtaining all the nifty vintage parts.

Thanks. The spare is pink so I think I will practice on it first.

Jamesfett i think the red button is very close, but agree with lonepigeon that the chrome bezel on the prop has a little bit sharper shoulder.

I see what your saying, but you have to look really really hard. There is also a flattened section on the ring. I don't know if it came with that or it was filed?

From my research it seems modern ones are a little softer. Maybe the tooling for stamping the bezel is just old.
The majority of these buttons are made by SoLiCo (stamped on the side). New ones still have the stamping too.
I picked up vintage (early 80's) old stock by Burndy and they seem sharper.

Burndy RK 160-2 Red Panel Light
Manufactured by SoLiCo (Mexico)
Flush snap-in, 1/2-inch mounting hole
Sold under other brand names
Available in 125V (RK 160-2), 24V (RK 231-2), and 12V (RK 163)

I picked up some black thumbscrews from China that are pretty close but the knurling is a bit too rough.

I believe the comb is a vintage ACE #88, Hard rubber, 7-inch comb (#288 and #688 also seem to be identical)
Conair barber comb seems to be the best modern option. I picked up the modern Ace too, but the Conair looks closer to the vintage Ace. I have not picked up a vintage comb yet.

Pink brush thing is almost certainly a one off piece. Maybe a modified toothbrush handle, but the tips are Prophy Angle Cups for dental polishing.
I bought a bag of 144. I'm happy to just share them with the group.

Sweet and Thank you.

Perhaps you can send the extras to Iaellee so when he has the kits ready he can include them.

I am happy to send $5 for a Starbucks. It's always cool when people share.

Jamesfett while I appreciate the sentiment, posting live eBay auction links has been against the rules here forever. You posted half my eBay watchlist last week lol

Okay the comb. :( (n)

Not cheap for a plastic comb. Who the heck wants these besides us?????

We have two contenders based on Lonepigeon's info.

My understanding is it's okay to post Ebay links if it's a buy it now listing?

Just thought I would pass along finds.

LMK

I can pull the Ebay listings if it's a problem.

Can I get opinions on the two combs.

I can't tell. One is 7" and one is 6.5" which is the #88 Lonepigion Identified. It's harder to see the details on #88 vs. the #288

Oh, you’re right they were buy it now, but geeze I saw you posting these eBay links that I was already watching, and I was like..

…that lot of 4 proxabrushes I had my eye on, but no big deal.
I’m not mad at you man, I managed to snag a thing or two, it was just a weird situation I found myself in. No worries.

So sorry. I did not meen to cause you stress. I did not think about that as I figured since these are not terribly expensive, the few of us looking for these things would snag them upon finding.

The Butler Proxabrush I got, which I am pretty sure is the correct one, is still there. They had several.

My toothbrush is not the exact one. At least I think it's not. It is very close, but the actual one is a little bit thicker.

There are more accurate Revlon Files as well.

Speaking of Revlon has a very close set of nail clippers, but they have a big, ugly R on the end that can be removed.

Jamesfett really, no worries. I’ve managed to amass a little parts pile of my own, and am not mad at you for trying to help out.
I started back in April, and have the razor, nail file, floss, and a few multiple wrong versions of the rest. Lol

The edges of the handle of my toothbrush handle are softer. They are sharper on the prop.

Does yours have that little bit of raised lettering just below the bristles, I couldn’t tell from your pics.

Nope. In fact that raised lettering is what drew my attention to the softer edges on mine.

It will do until the exact one for sure is found. All these "little" purchases add up.

I think I have over $100 invested in what amounts to $5 worth of personal hygiene products.

I still need advise on which comb I posted to get.
