Hello everyone, my name is Lionel Vogt and I have a small costume effects shop I started 4 years ago called Lion of the sun costuming. I am Now moving into my 5th year and heard about this group through some friends of mine.

I am doing some low budget film projects now , and did some pieces for the movie "hollywood and wine". Again just a little startup thing. I began as a mechanical engineer to one day discovering I had the capacity for art (shocked the ***** out of me) . I have done things like built robots for the show Battlebots. and have extensive background with RC gear/ I have written my own basic stamp stuff. so feel free to pick my brain if you wish. I know my way around Mill/lathe and CNC. I also just finished building my own 3ftX3ft Vac U Form machine.

Most of my recent work is recreation of animal form and costumes. I have taken to sensory augmentation. As in night vision and amplified hearing systems for my masks. And I will be posting a fully functioning Stormtrooper costume with night vision, gun camera, full 2 way digital audio/video feeds. and full cooling system on my website.

So , Hello everyone. here is a link to my website. A link to an instructables I did on a lion I worked on. and the You Tube Videos. I know its not nearly "hollywood level " yet. But i am just starting out. And would love to hear from you all. And I am more than happy to share my knowledge if you are.

Welcome aboard!

I got to see some of your creations at Dragon*Con - the nine-tailed fox, I believe, and the collection in the art show. I was all sorts of impressed.

Hi Solion, ever thought about tackling a Chewie? I've yet to see a really good accurate one...well ok, I've only really seen one, lol. That seems like it would be right up your alley though!

Actually I am going to be building a wookie elder (staff , braids, armor ) very soon and is one of the reasons I am here. I am looking for the right kind of fake fur to pull it off correctly. I know NFT (national fiber technologies) has the stuff that's perfect. However the 40.00 a square foot (not yard) pushes the pricing out of range.

Also will be building another creature from the SW universe, But cant let the cat out of the bag quite yet on it. I want to supprise everyone at comicon with it.
