Green Lantern Movie Ring

Honus, let me be the first to say that when you do your next run of rings, I'M IN!!! Missed out before, not gonna miss out again. :cool:thumbsup

Man, if Honus can get it worked out. I would jump on the chance to own a ring/battery!!! I'll keep an eye on this thread.

If it's anything like the power battery replicas that I have, probably around 14 inches tall, but without any other reference pics, it's really hard to tell.

Oh, and i'd love to be put on the list for a ring and battery, I LOVE your work.

Thanks guys! Based upon that size the boards I've got will be a perfect fit. I can fit the controller and battery in the bottom and the sensor near the lower part of the handle.

So who wants to sculpt this thing?:lol

Here's a fan's "concept" of what he thinks the movie ring looks like, based on what little we've seen so far...

Ring on the left in this pic...

He calls this a "low-profile" version of it... guess it's slightly thinner or something, hard to tell without seeing it side-by-side with the other one.

I've seen some of those go up on evilbay.
Doesn't surprise me, the person that made it does sometimes sell his rings there.

Given the few images we have of the movie ring so far, I'd say this is close, but a little off. It lacks the texture that some reports say the ring has. To me it ends up looking like a more refined version of the ring seen in the promotional image for the movie tie-in video game.

Very close.
The front surface needs to be completely flat (no curved edges) and the green part only extends halfway around the metal ring.

Also, the tips of the top and bottom horizontal bars need to slant outward. But overall, a really great ring, and I wouldn't mind adding one to my ring collection!

Sounds like the 2 of you have seen images of the ring the rest of us aren't privy to.

As for that thing where the green only extends halfway around the metal "base" ring, I'm not liking that idea. What was wrong with making the ENTIRE ring green, like in the comics? :confused

I made this in hopes that the movie Ring has a bit more to offer! The reason I sell on EvilBay is because You and I both know you will not pay those prices. That is why I offer these at a cheaper price to my friends on the forums. lol

You posted before I had a chance to pass on contact info for you.

Guys, if you want one of these, go ahead and PM my friend here that made it. I know him from the Green Lantern Corps Message Board and he's a good guy.

Gotta order one of these soon myself. :cool

I just realized that no one ever posted the closeup of the ring from the cover of Entertainment Weekly! :confused

Even though it has the "ring energy/glow" special effects, it's still one of the best views of the ring that we have. Here it is from the ridiculously high def digital version of the cover:

Also, I went through the 720p version of the footage Entertainment Tonight aired on Friday evening, and got screen caps of as many frames of the ring as I could before it becomes obscured by the "lens flare" effect from the ring glow:

I hope that by next week, we have the first official trailer available for download in 1080p so I can capture even better images of the ring. :cool

I actually have been living in a cave and not seen any of these pics. I knew nothing about the movie except who the lead GL would be.
Thanks for the update.

What's the opinion on getting a ring- wait for a possibly more accurate screen version or pick one up now?

Speaking only for myself, I've been a GL fan since the '80s. I've seen many different artistic interpretations of the power rings over the years. Since the movie's still 7 months away, we don't even really have replicas of the movie ring yet. Everything that's out there right now is really inspired by the rings in the comics, and each replica out there is one artist's interpretation of what the power ring looks like, just like each artist on the comic draws the rings a little differently, puts his own spin on them. The movie ring is no different. It's one artist's interpretation of what the ring should look like. Same with the movie's personal power battery and Central Power Battery.

With that in mind, if I see a GL power ring replica that I like, I buy it. If I see one that I don't like, I don't buy it. If I see one that I like but can't afford, I save up for it and buy it when I'm able! ;)

So, my point is... if you see a power ring replica that you like NOW, buy it NOW... if you want. ;)
