Green Lantern Movie Ring

Don't know much about the Green Lantern, but it looks cool. I LOVE the design of that ring though, glad there's more to it than I thought there would be.

Thanks for the close-ups and detailed shots. Not to add my voice to the growing choir or anything, but I also want that ring. Real, real bad.

And what is up with effing Kevin Smith??!?

Making the back half metal was a brilliant idea to "toughen up" the look of the ring.

I'm sure there will be some really good official rings that will be released when the movie hits.

The coolest thing that could happen though would be to see who could make a metal ring with the green material made of actual stone.

With that in mind, if I see a GL power ring replica that I like, I buy it. If I see one that I don't like, I don't buy it. If I see one that I like but can't afford, I save up for it and buy it when I'm able! ;)

So, my point is... if you see a power ring replica that you like NOW, buy it NOW... if you want. ;)

Hehe, I would have answered the same. Since joining this forum 2 weeks ago, I've already gotten almost $800 in props/custom helmets.

I already see more chatter about a movie prop in the works. Looking forward to it. :thumbsup

JoBlo.Com has just revealed what's up with those rings Kevin Smith and Jim Lee received. Prepare yourself to be enraged!

Take a look at some of the Green Lantern goods you can own!

It is not often I find myself on the same list as Matt Damon, Scarlett Johansson, Jay-Z, Kobe Bryant and Taylor Swift. But somehow I found myself on a list with the aforementioned celebs to be among the first 100 actors, athletes, musicians and, apparently, goofy web nerds to be invited into the Green Lantern Corps.

This Tuesday, I received a mysterious package. Inside was a note: "You have been chosen. Further communication from the Green Lantern Corps will arrive in 48 hours."

I quickly opened it up and found this little beauty inside.

Sadly, the ring won't be available to consumers. But I did receive a secondary package with some pretty cool GREEN LANTERN goodies that can be yours.

These items - a GREEN LANTERN hoodie sweatshirt, hat and t-shirt - will all be available next year, closer to the release of the film. They weren't ready for this mailing but I'm told that Converse is also preparing a line of exclusive GREEN LANTERN sneakers that promise to be rather bad-ass.

More information on the items and their availability as the release date approaches so stay tuned! In the meanwhile, I've got to ring-punch some punks in an alley somewhere.

The one item that fans are hungry for, the power ring prop, and they REFUSE to make it available to consumers? THAT'S COMPLETE AND TOTAL FELGERCARB!!! :angry

Somebody, somewhere needs to PAY for this decision! And by pay, I mean they need to be BEATEN TO WITHIN AN INCH OF THEIR LIFE!!! Maybe they'll realize the error of their ways after spending a couple months in intensive care!!!! :angry

jack, in the ring pictured there, definitely the green is on the side where i thought ti was metal. in the cgi version i disagree.

And it's hard for me to be 100% sure what I'm seeing, even at 1080p resolution. If we assume that's the green "Oaite" stuff with the translucent layer over top, then it looks like light is glaring off of the translucent surface, just like it does on the top of the ring.

If we assume that what we're seeing is metal, why is it a different color from the metal in the center?!? :confused

And because of the shadow from Ryan's fingers, it's also hard to tell on the actual prop, but I'm assuming it's green where I think it's green. Hard to tell from that angle and with details obscured by shadow, but I THINK I'm seeing the "hammered metal" center section, with green everywhere you initially thought it was green.

Too bad JoBlo didn't take more and better pics of the ring he received. :unsure

so is it safe to assume that since they made the promo props with that part as green that the cgi one is too?

I COMPLETELY AGREE!!! why would they not make this package available to collectors. The display for the ring looks so ******* cool! Doesn't DC realize how much money they could make if they made this available to the public?

I can understand them sending these packages to people like Jim Lee and Kevin Smith but why the hell are there celebrities that have nothing to do with comic books getting these?

To quote someone on the superherohype forum, "yay, free stuff for rich people! let's sell them to poor people."

And it looks like we wont even have the opportunity to buy them!

They better make these available to the general public in the future.

Let's hope we at least get that!

Those "press" rings are replica castings. The real rings do not have a split back and they have a hole in the center of the metal to let light through the center gem. You can see the light through the center go dark as Hal closes his hand around the ring in the trailer.

The center metal ring should be silver.

Omg those close ups are awesome

My friend makes stone jewellery well his Parents did

getting him to see if they can make one for me out of Jade or some commercial grade emerald
