Nope, he actually started threatening me with "tortious interference" because I called him a fraud and refused to remove the negative feedback. Plus he started spamming my inbox with messages. 4 in just a few minutes. I escalated the whole thing to Ebay.

I guess I got him running scared...




Speaking of the TRU ring, I got one of the lightup kits via Batjeepster...so I'm going to try modding it this weekend!

Ya I was dumbfounded by that too, I even messaged couple them to ask HOW lol... Told them to get their money back that it was scam! One seemed like they might after they knew the truth!

The thing I don't quite get is that it looks *nothing* like the DC direct rings... or even the TRU rings that are floating all over eBay...

How can anyone confuse them with being "accurate replicas"?

Well, I've heard back from Ebay today. They're supporting my claim under ebay protection. They're even paying for shipping to send the stuff back to the seller. Then if the seller doesn't refund me, they will.

Sort of late to the party on this but I thought I would show off my TRU ring. Not much new here but I made a cheesy $2 display to showcase it.

Mods to the ring:
- hole in back to allow light to transmit to front
- outside of metal ring sanded down to decrease extreme texture
- black paint removed from recessed area and replaced with aluminium black
- added silver paint to the back side of plastic jewel
- green paint added to the back side of crown area (makes the crown look deeper green to replicate the only aspect I liked about the DC ring)
- metal ring added from a liquid pencil

Display parts from Dollar Tree (total cost $2 plus tax and batteries)
-tiki LED lantern
-shot tubes (cut and sanded for frosted look)

Our dollar tree didn't have either items. I'll hit up another on the way back from dragoncon, and hopefully get lucky.

I found them toward the front of the store as part of their season offerings (along with school supplies).

I was inspired by the lit tube display stand the studio sent out as swag to advertise the movie. So iwas looking for something I could use to replicate the concept.

I had been checking out the Dollar Tree's book light, LED tea lights for light sources and toothbrush cases and a tube that a cheap watch came in. At the last minute I saw the shot glass tubes and tiki lantern. I just got lucky finding two things that worked perfect for the project.

@ Stitch, as soon as Ebay sees that the tracking number for the package is successfully delivered, my money will be returned. I didn't get an answer on him being shut down, so I suspect he won't be. I noticed your friends negative feedback was removed...that sux.
