Green Lantern movie Power Battery...

I thought the exact same thing but if you look really closely you can see it's been made up to like one giant chunk of green tiger's eye.

Similar to this necklace

The movie prop seems like it came much more from Kyle Rayner's battery than Hal Jordan's. The lines are very similar -- you can really see it in the shape of the lens.

I totally understand everyones opinions on not liking how they strayed from the comics, but you guys are taking this way to seriously. I personally think that this super advanced alien technology dumbed down to "a sphere, with cones and a handle" would be a terrible idea. Just as it would be to have Hal in a green and black jumpsuit that looks as though it was made by a human..

Also, we've BARELY seen any photos of the movie, and the ones that we have i am quite impressed with, such as Abin Sur's corpse. We've only seen a digital rendering of what Hals suit looks like but they even said that what we saw is NOT the final version of the suit.

Plus the Geoff Johns himself has had quite an overseer role in the production and creation of the movie. He has had nothing but amazing things to say, so i have faith that while this movie will not be pulled STRAIGHT out of the comics, that it will do justice to the character, franchise and fans.

I know that once a trailer is released, all the naysayers will be eating their hats for ever doubting the epicness of this movie. Frankly, i think the Jonah Hex comparison was uncalled for. That movie never had ANYTHING going for it.. Poor acting, poor set and prop design, lower budget, Megan fox (hot but terrible actress).

I really think CB fans really need to lighten up and be happy that these movies are even getting made.

i will be the first to buy a hat to eat if this movie is better than i expect, but i dont think thats going to happen. that link at the top of this page alleviated some negativity i had, but not a whole lot. seeing is believing.

i am right about comparing this to hex. it is what it is, and what ive seen of this movie is as bad as hex.

WTF?

have you ever read a green lantern comic? since when did oa look like a rejected location from world of warcraft?

i /am/ right with my comparison to hex. i love both characters, and both movies leaked out many things that did not sit well. jonah hex was a flop, and this one will be too. im expecting you or someone else to say "concept." but dont fool yourself or anyone else here, its a bit too late for pushing concept images out to the public. why would they do that?

because its going to flop.

edit

heres an example of a character i have no emotional investment in, wolverine. remember how his movie leaked all sorts of terrible stuff, and then UH OH! THE WHOLE MOVIE IS LEAKED BEFORE ITS RELEASE!

flop.

OK no name. We get it. You think it's going to be a bad movie. Good for you. There are still some of us who are excited from what we see, and even more excited for this movie in general. So we all know your opinion. So how about you stop pissing on what were excited about and leave this post? Thanks.

im sorry you cant handle truth and facts that are given to you. im trying to inform those of you who believe you are informed yet are misinformed about the green lantern mythos.

in this thread alone, we have one chuckle head saying the lantern isnt wrong because it isnt a railroad lantern. ahem.

and another that says oa is like oa in the comics.

i highly suggest those of you who are excited, inform yourselves as to which exactly it is you are excited about. is it because you're excited they're even bothering to make a green lantern movie? thats really the only thing i see to get excited about, but so was jonah hex. how about those of you familiarize yourself with this character and the history of him before you spout inaccuracy and fallacies, and dont crap on those of us who are unhappy with making what is already in simplest form a ridiculously over the top change. as our opinions on the film are equally as important as yours is, and if you have difficulty comprehending that you kind sir can take leave of the thread.

I agree, with name, it's important to know how badly they are moving away from the original story line, look at Superman, they didn't stick to the comics or even really the animated show and it sucked really really badly.

actually if you're talking about the christopher reeve superman series, i would disagree with it being bad. it was very well done for its time, and set the standard for superhero movies.

this "green lantern" movie however isnt setting any standards, nor really following any.

Give it time for some better pics to get out. I think a number of you will change your tune.

I dig the look!

OH NO GUYS.

If you think this is bad, you should see how badly they've butchered the new Batman movie costume!! It doesn't look like grey spandex and blue tinted leather at all!! What were they thinking?!

And The Joker doesn't even have a mustache under his facepaint!!

Seriously, this design has the basic lines of the power lantern without making it look like a prop from a 1998 made for tv movie. Because that's what a direct replica of the comics would be.

Ya, I can't see how any movie could be successful, when it's not the exact style of the comic books. I mean, how will anyone even enjoy the movie if this alien world isn't exactly like I think it should be?
