Unlimited Run GOTG - Yet Another Star-Lord Helmet KIT

Also, here's those eye measurements I promised (these are taken from the master I molded/cast and built into the helmet):

Outside: 1.857"
Inside: 1.425"
Inner Ring: 1.408" (there's a second, very small ring inside, which is present in the real helmet and is where I set the drop-in lenses I include - probably not needed for the Risu kit).

BTW, if it's not totally uncouth of me to ask, can those of you who ordered helmets drop me some feedback? I'm not fully sure how the system works, but I plan to keep offering kits of other items in the future and I don't want people thinking I'm some schmuck or a thief. lol

Thanks for the measurements MrRoboto.

Sorry if this is a stupid question but does anyone know how these stack up against the measurements of the TheRocketeer and MDuckett helmets or whether Risu would need to start a separate line for these helmets?

Hi, Site is back up but it won't let you proceed to checkout, keeps giving an SSL connection error and I suspect once I get past this it still won't let me check out because I am in the UK and it won't be able to calculate the shipping. I guess I am just not supposed to get one of these :facepalm

Hi, Site is back up

The site transfer finished literally 2 hours ago while I was driving home, and I'm (again, literally) in the middle of setting up SSL, email, nameservers, and half a dozen other technical issues. So no, actually, it's not fully functional yet (I DID say I'd post when it was).

OR, you could follow the instructions in the first post and PM me, since you live outside the US. ;) Because you're half right - even once it's live the site won't let you purchase (but not because it can't calculate shipping - I have it set to only sell to North America, for a number of reasons).

I am sorry that I have to handle international orders differently, but shipping gets expensive very fast, and there are a number of other complicating factors that make the process different enough from my normal process that it's best to handle them individually.

That said, the site SHOULD be functional again in the next few hours after I write this (various DNS settings just need to propagate through the interwebs). I'll check again before I get to sleep (which should be around 3am here on the West Coast), and hopefully nothing else stupid happens between then and normal person hours when the rest of you are likely to see this!

Follow @jsgfxjamie on Instagram, he is painting one of your helmets. He normally work on big hollywood productions and has done a bunch of really awesome stuff including marvel so I cant wait to see how it turns out!

I've been following along! I'm beyond excited to see how it comes out!
He works at Legacy, which I got to tour a while back, so I'm pretty sure I got to see a bunch of his work up close (though I didn't know it was his at the time)!

SITE UPDATE: still down

Well, technically, not up yet. The server my site is on (that I JUST moved to) crashed around 3:45 AM and is down for maintenance, minutes after my last post. Looks like I jinxed it. Sorry guys, hopefully it'll be back soon.

Nice! Must have been a fun surprise when he posted the first picture if you were already following him :)

It will be the first helmet in my collection and im pretty sure its going to be a hard one to beat!

I actually started following him after I was mentioned in the comments on that first photo, and then he confirmed that it was my cast! I was wondering who sent it to him!
But I'd seen a bunch of his work on Instagram before - just didn't know whose it was.

UPDATE

As I'm still facing website issues, and there are several who have expressed interest in purchasing a helmet, and I'd like to take care of those orders this week, for the time being we'll handle it the old-fashioned way.

HOW TO ORDER FOR NOW:
PM me with your email address, and I'll respond with a PayPal invoice. If you live outside the US please let me know so I can adjust the shipping.

Thanks, and sorry for the delays!

BTW, the site/store SEEM to be working again (looks like my local DNS was one of the last to get updated).
If you have any issues, just PM me and we'll handle it over PayPal.

I'm casting the last orders today and shipping tomorrow, then it's on to commissions for SDCC, so if you want one in the next 3-4 weeks, get that order in TODAY.

I can't tell you how awesome this helmet is, Mine is 98% finished I'll post pictures tomorrow!!!! Get you order in!!!!

Would love to see a Cliff Notes type write up on the helmet building e.g. which tools to use to cut in half and finishing. Cannot wait to start this project once we have all the necessary tools and 411. The helmet is beautiful!

This basically exists in the Progress photos I posted to my Facebook page as I was making it (www.facebook.com/SoloRoboto). You'll have to go back a bit, as I haven't done a real update to consolidate them yet. But there's photos of the entire process, what paints I used, etc.

Otherwise, it's really no different than any other resin kit. That, and the specific questions (what I used to cut it apart, how do to the flanges) are answered in this very thread. I think. I know the flanges are. I've gotten a lot of messages so I've tried to answer things publicly, but I lose track of what I posted in PMs and what here.
