If you get a set right away I could probably get it to you with time to spare, barring any post office shenanigans, but I'd have to start printing up parts right away. (Busy with work next couple of weeks in the evenings so I can't run parts every day.)

I had a set that were partially assembled and primed, but just sent that set out to another RPFer who was also in a hurry, haha. Unfortunately, I'm so busy "mastering" models and things that I rarely have time to finish sets for myself to show off, plus it's hard to lay down lots of spray paint in winter. (My quad blasters have been sitting ready to assemble for months now.)

Just imagine the parts above all silver & gunmetal! If you need to see how the plastic I use looks cleaned and painted, here's a Firefly Vera commission I'm currently finishing up. All printed parts except the innermost barrel, which is blued steel:

Beautiful. Am also a huge fan of Firefly and Serenity!!! Last question. Can you include the necessary magnets to get this going? Thanks.

I suppose something can be arranged if you don't have access to any. They're just regular 10mm neodymium magnets, of which you need 12 (16 if you don't have the twisty-hook).

Re: Star Lord accurate BOOT ROCKETS

Joatrash thank you so very much for working with us on this and the magnets. Monies coming tomorrow. I want this to be the twisty hook variation.

Re: Star Lord accurate BOOT ROCKETS

Got it, thanks. : )

That leaves ONE kit left in this very limited run...

Re: Star Lord accurate BOOT ROCKETS

Up we go. I might have a slightly flawed set that can be had at a discount. Nothing too bad, just a couple rough spots that need a little extra TLC. PM for info.

Re: Star Lord accurate BOOT ROCKETS

Got the set a few minutes ago. WOW!! Beautiful quality!!! Expensive but worth every penny. Now i need to find someone to make a hollow thigh rocket controller with embedded light and switch controller. Going to take my time on building this set. Everyone whom bought a set we need to contact one another and pick each others brain and see how we can get lights and sound in this item.

Ah, glad it arrived safely and that you like the kit! (Don't forget to buy some plexiglass cement!) Earlier than expected too. I'll be doing the controls eventually but if you need 'em now I think Soulinertia is still doing hollow versions and his stuff has always been good.

For lights and sound I would run lights on the inside of the pants from the knees to the boots. You could hide a small RCA or tele-plug on the inside of the boot shafts and run it through the plates. If you want to get REAL advanced, you could always make some sort of contact points between the plates and rockets bu that might be overkill.

By the way... if anyone wants a set of these but is on a budget, I'm getting ready to list a slightly rough print in the junkyard for $250-ish. My printer was misaligned when I printed some of the pieces, so they'll require a bit more sanding and filler-primer but there's otherwise nothing wrong with it.

Re: Star Lord's Rockets (ending soon)

Might be time to end this project soon. I've committed to making one more set before ending it, so now's the time if you are on the fence.

Re: GotG Star Lord's Boot Rockets (*one set left*)

Even though I'm missing a piece (which you are replacing), these are fantastic. Wore them all day to a con with no issues. Light as a feather and easy to remove. Great job.

Hi would love to see pics of how you put this set together along with the paint apps and such. Did you add lights to your set?

Thanks for the praise! Your parts should reach you any day as I sent them out over a week ago now.

So, I've been away for a week and did a mad rush while in LA to go see the real rockets in person, which I managed to do for just a couple feverishly stressful minutes due to the rush-hour traffic. I ended up making my flight home to Sweden with just ten minutes to spare! I actually saw a couple tiny details that I missed. Nothing that you would see unless you have your face literally inches from them and small enough that it would be hard to replicate on anything but a super high-end printer. Actually surprised at how close I got with this kit.

Anyway... one more set still on offer then this run is done.

Re: GotG Star Lord's Boot Rockets (*one set left*)

Still open to making another set. These are still the most accurate boot rockets out there by far.

Re: GotG Star Lord's Boot Rockets (*one set left*)

Still got that one set left? I'd even be interested in the flawed set you mentioned. Anyhow let me know.

Thanks
Brian

Kinda winding down this, but still able to do them if someone still needs the most accurate rockets around... ; )
