Hi Daniel got the 2 metal buckles today! WOW they have some serious heft and they look stunning!! IMHO you can take this into battle! And use as a weapon too maybe ;-p You need to add pics of the back so everyone can see the quality. Worth every penny. Weighing them now on my scale: 14.45 oz :)

Yeah they are quite hefty, each one uses about $20 worth of metal alone not to mention the back and all the labor.

Most of the time you try to make your props as lightweight as possible due to having to perform and walk for miles around a con but in the case of a belt I figured why not?
To me the weight is what makes it feel "real".

One of the lamps for my light box is burned out so my pictures aren't coming out great but yeah I'll post a picture of the back.

We've come up with a resin and cold cast version for those who can't afford the full on metal buckle so stay tuned for that.

Just FYI It'll be after the holidays before I order more metal and start to cast.

The reason for this is that shipping on the ingots is kind of expensive due to weight so I want to order enough to do all the orders at the same time.

Out of curiosity, do you know what the ETA is on receiving one if ordered now? I'm very interested, but my costume needs to be finished by March.

@Mystic5523 I plan on ordering the metal the first week of January. It then takes about a week for that to arrive.
Once it gets here I'll start casting buckles. Each one takes me about 1-2 hours to make (casting, sanding, buffing, polishing, dry brushing) plus the time for things like the metal cooling, clear coat drying and setting the buckle backs.
So unless I sell an insane amount of these I will guess at a ship date of mid to late January.

I'll ship these in the order in which they were paid to speed things up.

These are pretty awesome, and I've been looking for a new belt buckle anyway. Think you could weather mine heavily like yours?

jai There might still be some open runs for a SL helmet, if not Helagak released some 3d printable files. I've printed a couple of those for people and they come out pretty good but be warned, they require a lot of work.

David, you can leave the Tandy buckle attachment off mine. I'm going to attach it to a screen accurate belt anyway.
