GOTG: My own Star-Lord Build - New Boot Rockets - Post #201

Re: GOTG: My own Star-Lord Build

And I also attended the big Marvel Photo Shoot on the steps of the Hyatt. My fiancee was only able to get shots of the 'Cosmic' Marvel' shoot because the big shoot was shot by chosen photogs. I'm looking for links to those galleries now.

And look who showed up at the Marvel shoot! (it's James Gunn, director of GOTG)

Here's a vid of James Gunn (and his brother Sean) with us. I'm right up front, on the left. It was so hot, but it was so much fun!

(spot me at about 1:30!)

It was an amazing experience, my fiancee and I had an amazing time, and we're definitely going back next year!

Re: GOTG: My own Star-Lord Build - Dragon Con Pics! Post #160!

If I met you at the Con this weekend, please post or send me a PM. It was great getting to chat with so many great people, but I'm really bad with names. Hit me up if you need anything!

Teehee soon man, very soon. Let the poor guy rest up, we're almost done. :)

Re: GOTG: My own Star-Lord Build - Dragon Con Pics! Post #160!

What did you end up using for holsters?? Having a hard time figuring this out.

Looks awesome. First time reading the thread. Like your method for getting the guns looking that way. Wish I had seen it before I finished painting my own set.

Ever considered adding more electronics to the props? Just for the fun of it? Just curious.

Still gotta say, love the mask. Offhand, and you don't have to disclose this if you don't want, but what did it cost to get that done? Just the 3D print part. I've considered it in the past, but usually passed because cost seemed to be a bit high in general.

Added some flair to my helmet last night for a costume party tomorrow night!

I can see with the lights on if it's light outside, but i'm pretty much blind if it's dark out. But I put the switch just inside the back of the neck, so i can easily turn them on and off. And it's all self contained so i can leave the lights on when it's just sitting on a table.

It's almost ready to show off, that one as a test. Very very soon :D

Re: GOTG: My own Star-Lord Build - Dragon Con Pics! Post #160!

Been following this thread for a while to get some ideas, and finally got around to painting my first blaster today. This is only the second costume project I've done, so I'm pretty new to this and all the pictures and explanations have been extremely helpful.

I also put together a foam walkman, but thats about it so far, as I haven't had a lot of time to work on this.

If anyone is interested in how I made this or wants to see what else I'm working on, you can check out my build thread.

Let me know what you guys think!

Re: GOTG: My own Star-Lord Build

I found this pic where it shows the blaster clip clearly! Now the question is how to build it, I am thinking JB Weld metal putty. Any suggestions?

After MUCH work I think we finally got this thing nailed down, at least part one anyway. If this mold works out I'll cast one and show it off perhaps as soon as tomorrow.

Such a tease, sir. Such a tease.

Ironmaniac and I have been working on this for weeks (among other things) but it's finally starting to look right. I think we have the shape and size down accurately. But the best part is how this will attach ;)

Expect more pictures soon and a run soon.

Tried out one cold cast in aluminum, gotta let these cure then we'll paint and polish and show you what they look like.
