Gluing foam

Working on my mass effect 3 build, and as I'm working on the abs, I glued 5 thin layers in total. As I'm beginning to heat it and shape it, I'm getting a little worried of things beginning to come undone. I know I can finish shaping it in one piece, but some edges and corners look like they may come off a bit. I'm using DAP Weldwood Contact Cement. Instead of tearing it apart and redoing it with extra layers of glue, is there a way to reinforce it to ensure it'll stay together? Should I just use a glue gun in key spots? Or when I patch things up with Kwik Seal, you think that'll be enough?

Hot glue works extremely well on foam if you're careful not to let it build and clump up in places.

I know a few people that prefer super glue for edges. barge is also a highly recommended glue as well as hi temp hot glue.

Contact adhesive produces the strongest bonds in my experience, though not all contact cements are created equal. If you're finding seams are opening up a touch, you may not be getting decent coverage of the cement all the way up to edge on both pieces. As Cullen mentioned above, you can use CA/superglue to reinforce seams if they start to split. I have, on occasion done this as a preventative measure, though most of the time it's not really necessary.

Glue guns have a lot of advantages, but I don't feel that they produce a stronger bond on foam than contact cement .

Barge Cement is awesome, its used for gluing shoes, but its got a lot of fumes and its pretty expensive. Sometime though the expense is worth it.

I was initially going to get barge, but didn't find it at any local stores. At least the couple I checked out. So I just went ahead and went with DAP Weldwood Cement
