Giant Master Replica problem today - check your credit cards!

I ordered a white clone on Sunday using the code. I was pumped to get the helmet for $164.00 shipped (50% coupon code, 10% collector's society + shipping), and watched as my order progressed from ordered, to payment processing, to...credit card declined! :confused I used my paypal card, which is back up funded by my bank account.

I immediately call paypal to ream them, and find out that Master Replicas attempted to charge my card not for $164.00 but for $51,534.89!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A call to MR got an excuse of a problem with the new payment processor, and somebody would call asap to assure me my identity had not been compromised.

Amy called me back 4 1/2 hrs later (after I called again wanting answers), to confirm the problem, and admit that a lot of people were similarly affected with the Luke V2 sabers.

The real dissappointment came when I asked if MR could speed my order, or possibly give me free shipping for the hassle and set-back on my order. Rather then help me out, my order is pushed out 7 days because it's an automated process and there's nothing they can do.

Everybody had better check their cards and bank account. I was told that the errors were for small and large sums.

I'm not real pleased with MR right now.
 
wow that better be one hell of a helmet and be gold plated inside and contain some of George Lucas' DNA...
 
I just received this e-mail from MR:

Dear Todd,

We apologize for the error on our part. We assure you we will not be
attempting to take that amount again and will credit all the money
that is taken out over the actual product amount. We have a new credit
card company and there is a glitch in the system. Again We assure you
we will not attempt to take that amount of money. Please feel free to
contact me at anytime and again we apologize for this.

It sucks because I still have a 7 day wait till they attempt to reauthorize my card.:angry
 
Hi Everyone!

Master Replicas is using a new credit card processing company and there was a huge glitch (evidently:eek) in the system. A few dozen people were affected. I wish I could tell you what exactly happened but I don't know. The problem was fixed and everyone who was charged was refunded today. Everyone's orders that declined will process within the next 7 days. No ones order will be affected. We are holding the inventory for you.

We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. We have taken measures with the new company so this will not happen again.

Yeouch. I hope the new credit card processing company will compensate MR for this failure on their part, and if anyone was negatively impacted by it MR do a little something to compensate them for it. :(

You know, I'm glad that I saw this.

My credit card was also declined for an order for some PotC stuff today, when it definitely shouldn't have been. It has been frustrating today trying to figure out why that would've happened, especially since their customer service was unable to give me any additional details.

I'll keep an eye out for strange charges... Thanks a lot for the heads up!
 
Yep add me to this list I ordered the Deadman's chest and got charged 44,795.60...Though I was told that I would be charged and shipped the next day...hmm a lie I guess. ...

The only compensation is they'll hold my order for 7 days till they can try my card again and not sell my helmet to someone else. I didn't ask for anything other then an expedite on my order, and perhaps that they could cover shipping. Amy told me there was nothing they could do, because it's all automated.
 
It's funny - as soon as I heard that they'd changed companies recently I got worried about my two remaining pre-orders from them (Luke v2 SE, and Mara Jade). I didn't expect any issues like that though!

I hope there are no more glitches - but I think I'm going to be worried until the last item is on it's way to me - particularly as there is this 7 day automated wait before they try again. Almost wish I could pre-pay them now as I've allocated the money in my savings account for them.
 
My CC was declined twice as well so all I did was called MR and used a different CC. Order went through with no problem.

I will check my statement online thought to ensure that I didn't get charged 50K for about $200 worth of merchandise.... :confused

Uh, not quite. Reviewing my CC account online, it appears that on 9/19 I was charged $837 for a $119 Luke saber, but the refund you believed would have happened on 9/20 has not shown up yet. Since CC charges I made yesterday (Saturday, 9/22) are already showing up now (Sunday evening), I am going to assume no refund has been made, perhaps because you guys don't know the full extent of the issues you are having. I'll be calling MR tomorrow to resolve, but you might want to look into things more fully before you state the problem has been fixed.

POTC items? I ordered the chest a few days back... But I did get an email stating it has shipped.
