Figures. It always smacked of trying to appease the annoyed fans, and at this point, I guess Sony figures either they're placated, or they're implacable. Either way, it doesn't make sense to spend money diluting your brand.

pretty much. paramount doesn't care about turtles and just turned it into a cash grab with the lowest common demoninator. DC is just throwing darts at a wall and hoping something sticks for the biggest super heroe's ever, when they could just simply hire the B:TAS guys who know how to make things work. and now Sony is using some clueless executives and focus groups to ruin ghostbusters with the lowest common denominator.

I hate to break it to you but no studio out there cares anything about their IPs beyond how much money they can make from them. You forget, movie studios aren't in the business to make movies that make geeks like us happy, their aim is to do whatever it takes to get as many butts in seats as possible so their movies can make as much money as possible. If they can do that by making all the fans happy then they'll do so, if they can do it by pissing the majority of them off they'll do so. They're in the business of making money, plain and simple.

im not understanding this correctly.. i thought this movie was going to replace the girl ghostbusters movie? so now we will have the girl busters next year, and then this new movie will come out. so now are we suppose to forget the girl film?

At this point, I would say that they'd hate it anyways. A big yellow light and the original logo put over a chrome stripe is where we draw the line? I didn't even notice that until Kerr pointed it out and, really? The logo is still there and it still gets the point across. There is so much more to be critical about than a car that looks different compared to the original.

this is what im so confused about.. maybe the girl busters start a nation wide business and the guys are located on the west coast? i dont understand this at all? maybe it will be like when the HULK came out, then 3 years later a new hulk came out to erase the crappy first hulk...
