I love Appleseed. I thought the '04 movie was GREAT. I would LOVE to see that film remade in live-action.

Despite (or on account of) not knowing much about the manga or anime, I enjoyed it a lot.

Apparently it's not doing really well in the US and overseas while doing better it's not a super hit like I think they were hoping, it may take another week or two to make it's budget back. Maybe they didn't dumb it down enough for the teenagers they were hoping to get in with it being an action movie. I know not many teens are into the anime or manga for that reason too.

Visually it was good. ScarJo is either great as a cyborg or horrible.... her acting is generally pretty wooden. The more i watch her the more I think she's like a female Keanue Reeves.

Visually the movie was pretty sweet. I need to go back and watch the original anime again.
