Getting an Xbox One. Help me pick a starting game (or two).

I'm also expecting my first kid soon (like, in early March), so I'm most keen to get involved with a game that either autosaves all the time, or where I can pause and save as needed. This means probably no online multiplayer gaming, especially against other people.

Its great you think you'll have time to play games, I love the optimism :D

Eh, I figure I can hold her in the crook of my arm initially, prop the bottle on my shoulder, and hold the controller in the other hand. Alternatively, I can play with my feet up on my desk, her in my lap, one hand holding the bottle, and the other moving the mouse in turn-based games. :D

Granted, it's just a theory.

I know some people weren't fans but I really loved ALIEN:Isolation.

I'd probably get that on PC, since I've only seen it available on XB1 for, like $20+. On PC, you can get it for, like, $5, maybe $20 WITH all the DLC during a Steam sale or from legitimate CD key sellers (e.g. Green Man Gaming, CDKeys.com).

My daughter is 5 next month, my Xbox hasn't even been plugged in for over 4 years.

Yikes! Well, mine will still be used if only to watch Netflix and Amazon Prime.

My personal experience with XboxOne and SW: Battleftont has been nothing less than terrible.

If you have kid accounts on your machine.. expect to jump through even MORE hoops.

All thee mail accounts, xbox account and then/now an EA account .. and then expect to download their Origin client (500+ MB in size by the way) just to change things and link your xbox account to your EA account..etc..

Also.. it doesnt respect your parental controls either.. so you need to LIE and fudge your kids age to even allow them to play the game..
and even now.. their accounts can NOT play multi-player.. (even though every setting on the xbox, microsoft account and ea accounts all are set to allow multi-player.. only my MAIN account can do so!

Yet another fumble for EA MIHO.. if I could return the game.. (and give some manager/exec a slap in the face) I would. (spit)

Minor update:

XB1 to be delivered on Friday.

Dragon Age: Inquisition to be delivered on Wednesday.

Good thing I'm already a Gold member, and can download a few Games with Gold/XBLA games to play (and that I have some backwards-compatible 360 games).
