Saw this on G4 tonight...

You can get a full head, face mask, mugs, action figure heads, head cups, brain cases etc of your own head..using a couple of pics of yourself. Now...what fun can we have with this.

I could replace my Indy action figure heads with decent Harrison Ford likenesses....a full sized Luke or Leia head...etc etc etc.

A little pricey unfortunately..but would be fun to try!

Wow... Two grand for a full head - but the imagination runs wild. The FAQ states they can add facial hair. Hmmm...

That's pretty intriguing! One thing I've always thought would be fun to do is make an action figure of our old horror host, Sammy Terry, that was in scale with the old Azrak Hamway classic monster figures!

It's not as accurate as it appears. The image overlay on the actual surface of the model helps in fooling the eye. I've toyed around with face programs like this to speed up cgi likeness face sculpts. Computers still can't match the level of a skilled hand and mind from a raster of 2d images.

One day this may be a different story. 3d Infrared light projection abled webcams will be very common soon. They will make it possible to create near perfect 3d copy of yourself or anyone you can get in front of them.

Still a pretty cool web site, would be nice if they let you download the model as an obj to rework. This type of tech is good for making a starting mesh.

i did it it looks cool
i dont look to bad as a old man and it gave me a frosted hair do it d be nice for a laugh but i dont know anyone who would have there face on a hat

Pretty cool, but I wonder how fragile that plastic they make it out of is?

From what I remember being told about 3d prototyping, that stuff is prone to snapping and sugarcoating.

The finish looks so porus on the 1/6 scale heads that I don't know if repainting would help at all.

Seems cool, but I'd have to see the final product first-hand and at that cost that just isn't going to happen.

Looking at the pictures, it seems like the actual masks have very little physical detail, most of which is just printed on; like projecting a photo of someone's face on a blank mask.

Wow! AMAZING likeness..especially at 1:6!!

Funds are pretty tight now or I would sure be interested! Nice work!!!
