Hello everyone, first post here. Thought I would share my progress with my TWD Governor cosplay. I decided to do the Gov because I love the character and after going as him with a quick inaccurate costume for Halloween at my school, I was told by several people I look just like him and it was kind of a sign to me to do a real cosplay of him. I mean I have a blast doing it so why not?
So yeah I have finally got everything I need for my upcoming con ordered and now I'm just waiting for things to arrive. I'm going for more of the season 4 look as well. So, here is what I got so far...

EYE PATCH

The Governor doesn't wear a standard eye patch, he wears some sort of special leather one.
You can get a custom made one on ebay or etsy, which is what I got.

UTILITY BELT

EDIT: The Governor's utility belt is actually the plain version of this one,

It's the same as Rick's except smooth, so make sure you select plain instead of basket weave. Now I'm going to have to replace mine. :unsure

HOLSTER

The holster I couldn't find a definite answer to, so I found mine myself using this image as reference,

What I found was this Bianchi/hill country leather 92/96 holster which looks extremely close,

The Governor wears his cross draw.

SHIRT

The Governor wears a crap ton of shirts throughout the series, but they are usually always long sleeve and button up. I was particularly looking for a Navy blue one with two pockets as that is a common look that he wears. I found this one at Walmart for 12 dollars,

It looks pretty similar to many of the ones he wears in Season 4, particularly this one,

Here are the items that either can be covered really quickly or I don't plan on acquiring for a very long time if ever.

PANTS

In season 4 the Governor appears to simply wear dark brown jeans, pretty straightforward.

BELT

TWD Fanatic ID'd this belt in his thread, according to him the Gov wears a brown one though its heard to see on screen so I'm not entirely sure.

I'm so far just using a black one I own that looks very close, will likely get this soon though.

JACKET

The Governor's jacket in season 4 is really cool but to get an accurate one is pretty pricey so I won't be getting one for a while. I found this one to be the cheapest and still accurate.

BOOTS

This ones hard, it would appear no one has identified them yet. Here are some reference pics, you can see that they have a buckle and are low heel. If anyone figures it out please let me know, in the mean time I've asked Eulyn Womble on Twitter.

KNIFE

HakSawJak (Who's thread has been very helpful) identified the Governor's knife as a KABAR 1221. They look like this,

To be more con friendly I bought a KABAR training knife by Cold Steel.

I then painted and modified it to look more like the 1221.

KNIFE SHEATH

I couldn't find anything on this myself so I did some searching and came across this picture,

Using that it was pretty easy to identify it as the KABAR 1211's black leather sheath,

This sheaths holds 7 inch blades, but the training knife is longer then that. So, while it can be put in the sheath, its a tight fit and doesn't look the same as with a shorter blade. Here they are side by side.

Here is some pictures I took with some of what I have so far. The fake whiskey was simply tea and soy sauce, ended up looking pretty real.

Great costume GB Nolen ... you sure know how to gather the much needed props to make the transformation believable ... might I suggest the use of some great brillantine hair gel and parting your hair the way the Gov does ... you'd become indistinguishable on your next cosplay ;) Love the whiskey shot :)

I actually plan on using hair gel for cons, just didn't bother for these photos.
 
BOOTS - NEW INFORMATION! (WILL UPDATE AS SEARCH PROGRESSES)

So Eulyn Womble responded on twitter! She said the boots were made by FRYE, which helps me narrow the search down quite a bit! I'm probably going to contact FRYE and send some reference photos and see if they can help me figure it out. I have a feeling they are discontinued because I looked at all the men's boots currently available on their site and couldn't find the right ones.

SHIRT - S4 PRISON ASSAULT

Thought I'd share that while the Governor wears many similar looking shirts throughout season 4, (And season 3) the particular one he wears during the prison assault would be this one,

Navy/dark blue, long sleeve, button up, and only one pocket without a button. I plan on eventually getting the jacket he wears so this is important to go with it. Until that time I'm going for the pre-jacket season 4 Governor look.

Man, I hate the Governor sooooooooo MUCH!! Fun costume build though, cool idea. :)

The Governor uses a chrome M9 Beretta. Here's nice a nice reference pic,

For cosplay purposes you can find an airsoft one by UHC for very cheap. Airsoft-wise its crap, cosplay-wise its just what we need. The cheapest I've found it in stock is here,

That's part of the game of prop collecting ... especially when the real used parts are not quite identified yet ... thanks for sharing and your edit. This migth be quite helpful for those members following in your footsteps :)

Wow ... those pics look great and you sure did have a blast at Comic con :) ... if they ever make prequels with a 'young' Governor ... you should totally get the part ;)

Yeah, though I have actually never been to a con without a cosplay. I have been to 7 cons now, I always go as a Ghostbuster, I'm a member of the Portland Ghostbusters too. Here is a pic of my Ghostbusters stuff,
