Gareee's MCU Mysterio reference and costume build thread

After careful consideration, I'm going to call these done dispite the new reference images.
Looking at the final prints, unless I use a finer nozzle and a thinner layer height, you wouldn't see it anyway. You can barely make it the detail I modelled in as it is, so I'll just fudge them in with paint ops.

Here is the first finished clasp. I added bars to support the front cape scallop, and the back has pegs and holes for mounting. I can either use the pegs for 1/4" Eva foam, or put magnets in instead. Odds are I'll just use the pegs though.

After a few layers of filler primer and gloss black, I get a nice smooth gold.

Looks like a missing post with reference pics, unless mobile is acting up, so here they are just in case. (Forgive the double post if it's a hiccup.)
I would love to get all of this stuff you made, as it would help me a lot to make my own Mysterio cosplay, as i dont have a 3D printer or a computer that could run the modeling program to make everything, if you do start selling all of this stuff i would love to know so i can start saving money to buy them, also, where did you get that dome for the helmet?

Thanks. I'm not sure I'll make any of this available yet because of the long print times. For the collar, the bracers and the cape clasps, I'm looking at 7 days without any clean up or finish work. I might, but the jury is out until after dragoncon.

The globe I to ordered from Amazon, and they're are several suppliers there of 12"globes. The other mysterio thread here had another supplier link for the globes, and the price is pretty much the same after shipping... About $27 or so.

Well, if ypu find a way of seeling this syuff, i would gladly buy it, also, could you send me that link for the glove? Because i dont know what you mean by yhe other mysterio thread

Radioman has a build thread here in the marvel section...he did mysterio for sdcc 2019.

Here's his globe link,

but you really want a 12"globe, not a 14" because they are too large. You'll also want some airflow inside the globe, and I'm using o2cool necklace fans from Walmart or Amazon.

Thank

Watch a few videos on youtube by Evil Ted. Odds are you'll make the armor from eva foam, and he has a lot of great tips and techniques. If you search on youtube for mysterio as well, you'll find a video test of a mysterio helmet for sale on Etsy. I'm using that idea as the basis of mine, and Luke is great to deal with. He also has some cape clasps for sale as well. I know he is modelling bracers, but I don't know if he'll offer them for sale.

Keep in mind no one has templates for any of this yet, and the references here are the only ones I've found on the web, so we don't even have complete references yet. A year from now it'll all be sorted, but for now everyone is winging it, and taking best guesses.

As far as updates on my build, here is one bracer painted, and the glove armor plates.

well thank you for this information, ill make sure to look into everything you recomended me, and by the way, what you have made so far looks incredible, keep up the great work and good luck!

Slowly but surely making progress. Magnets are now in the globe to seat it more stabally on the collar, the second cape clasp has its base gold after paint wrinkling, sanding, and additional coats, the suit tracking diamonds are printed, the undersuit is done minus the tracking diamonds and Velcro to attach the pants to the top.

The cape clasps finally getting some color. The insets look to be copper, and the whole thing will needed a dark wash once it's done. One side just had the copper addition... It takes like 4 or 5 coats to cover this gold!

Dragoncon was a success! It took 2 hours to get everything on and working properly on Friday morning, but I then had it on for the next 12 hours without any significant issue.

People were so delighted with it that I never even put the globe on for any pics, so I'll have to do that to show off the complete look.
