So this is what I have so far. The top is made from linen. I dyed it to the correct colors (more or less) then assembled it and embroidered the designs and beads (which I also dyed). It's lined in cotton. The skirt was made from an upholstery fabric but I'm thinking of remaking it. The upholstery fabric has white filler thread that irks the crap outta me so I may go back and replace it with linen. The belt is leather which I dyed then painted the designs on and threaded leather strips along the edge.
Detail of the back design. Finding reference pics for this was difficult, her hair was usually in the way or it was too grainy to make much out.
Made from a closet rail. It's shaved all over to give it that rough-hewn look then it was painted in a base coat of chocolatey brown and dry brushed in black. The grip is made from linen. I re-created the fabric design in Photoshop then textured it to look like cloth. I printed it on iron-on paper which was ironed to the linen then I embroidered over the design in places to make it look more dimensional. I couldn't find faux fur in the correct color or length so I got long pile white fur, shaved it down with hair clippers and dyed it tan. The leather bits were all dyed a dark brown and the wrapped portions are chunky hemp.
Now I just need to make her boots. I read they were made on top of a pair of sneakers but I don't know if I want to go that route or not since I won't be wearing them for long periods of time like Renee O'Connor. If anyone has clear pictures of her boots from around the time of the Hope story arch I'd be very grateful. I'll need them from as many angles as possible, this'll be my first real shoe build. Thanks for taking a look.
