Hi Roman,
Same case, I would like to command one Grafex for my project ESB Lightsaber.
- Is it still possible ?
- If yes, shall I command via your site: http://romanprops.com/ ?

- One technical question: I see there is no holes to install the black grips. Because I have no dedicated tool (except a normal drill), how to make this holes properly to install the screw ? (may be a dedicated post explain this point ?)

There are no holes. You can use a template and then use a cheap punch to mark the holes before using a regular hand drill to carefully make the holes (drill press is better of course). Or, don't make any holes at all. Cut the heads off screws and glue those to the grips and then glue/tape the grips to the bottom end the same way you would for the ANH version. I'm probably going this route as well, without drilling holes.

This is is exactly what I do! Mine just sit on a shelf, so it works well.

Roy makes a (non functional) bulb release, & a number of other MPP parts. Check them out at wannawanga.com
I'd be very interested in an end cap, as Roy says he won't be making them, due to the complexity.

Oh yeah, I know roys parts and his site very well. I bought a bunch of parts from him already. Knowing what challenges roman has taken on, I would think he will be going for another functional mpp like his graflex. I'm curious about the end cap.if I'm not mistaken heiland is standard US and mpp is Europe so possibly metric. The threads may not work, however I'm sure if roman came up with a cap to fit the heiland, it would fly off his shelves lol

Well that's a shame It's my least favorite saber of the entire series (4-7) and one I don't have any plans to collect. Now if we were talking about the sexy beast DV6...

DV6? Oh, you mean that monstrosity that was incorrectly promoted as the ROTJ vader for years? Nah, I will take the MPP!

No, I mean the saber used in ROTJ, based on a stunt Graflex from the previous movie. A saber that fits perfectly into the mythos of Anakin/Vader's saber building. An almost "perfect" saber design, truly in the spirit of Star Wars, if one exists.

It's a small item/detail that almost makes up for what they did to the Stormtrooper armor in ROTJ.

Love the saber family photo. Such an iconic lightsaber and stoked mine is on the way. Question. I know about the screw on the clamp to the body. Does the real graflex have these. I'm not complaining, only curious. I have a copy from the custom saber shop, that I have found from them, parks is their supplier. (Long winded sorry) and they have a screw as well. I thought I read roman commented about the added screw. I have never even seen a real graflex.

Hi Roman, not wanting to interrupt the reviews coming in, but for someone so mega-late as myself, are these still available to order, and if so if I ordered now when would the likely delivery be? I kinda guess several months? I can only imagine that you must have several hundred to send out (or even receive new batches) so just wanted to check.

Relax, I was just messing with you guys about the ROTJ Vader saber! I much prefer the MPP Vader since that was the hero in all 3 movies but it still is way better than the Barbican and ROTS Vader sabers.

No worries, I was being tongue-in-cheek myself (even though it *IS* my fav Vader saber). I will concur that variations on this saber, notably resin parts supposedly used in the movie and in an Energizer commercial (and auctioned for big-bucks) are horrific nightmares that should forever be lost to time.
