I think he's referring to the black paint in the letters, as the proper vintage variants have.

I had anticipated the tell would be a lot more subtle, such as the rivet on the tab under the red button not having a chamfered edge.

Thank you, my old eyes along with too many "beers" were seeing R.I. but my brain was thinking why isn't R.E.

Just make sure whatever style d-ring ring you use, that you place it to cover that spot up, done.

I'll skip pic 2 since that was an open box with a flash handle wrapped in what looked like japanese newspaper :)

still to this day i dont know how roman ships things so fast! i ordered some parts on friday, i got them on sunday. excellent service every time i deal with him! :thumbsup
