There maybe another solution (in case it still doesn't work out). And that is to find additional investors. Maybe someone is willing to share the risk? Or how about a Kickstarter project? You'll be sure to reach so many backers that you better start checking the MAX order quantities!!

I'd certainly rather pay $200 for a Romans replica than $800-1000 for a genuine graflex.... But that's just me

Horrible news & maybe good news...
This morning, I was trying to figure out how to tell you guys the project was off...
In trying to figure out how to break the news gently, I had one last idea.
I'm going to increase :wacko the order amount... spread out over the next two years and completed in several runs. This will allow us to make smaller, manageable runs, and make it worth the while for the vendors.
I should have word early next week...
Everyone cross fingers and toes!!

I'm definitely still down for the one, but if you do end up breaking this into multiple, smaller runs, I may also be in for a second one down the line. I've decided I'm going to try my hand at adding electronics to one and might need to have a second one handy...just in case I do something stupid....

I haven't accepted the quote, because... right now we're looking at about $225 for a complete Graflex. I'm trying to get them down to at least $200 a unit.
