Limited Run === G R A F L E X === Flashgun Gen.2 ... now taking PRE-ORDERS!!! New Pics Oct. 5

Re: === G R A F L E X === Flashgun ... NOW SHIPPING!!!

Trying to cancel because you want an accurate prop yet gutting it for an aftermarket blade holder? You could spend $500-$1000 on a real Graflex but as soon as you stick that blade holder in, it isn't accurate. By the way, make sure you get the right Graflex as there were multiple versions so even a real Graflex could be inaccurate... I swear, some people. I'm just glad to have a near-perfect replica as I would not spend the cash that people ask for a real Graflex. Beggars and choosers and all.

Re: === G R A F L E X === Flashgun ... NOW SHIPPING!!!

Again, most of us "toy" builders care just as much about accuracy as static prop builders. We just care that it's accurate on the outside. Who cares if a prop has the same all thread inside or you can fire off a flash bulb with it. Don't forget that TFA used "toys" to make the movie. So if you want to be really accurate you better light it up.

Re: === G R A F L E X === Flashgun ... NOW SHIPPING!!!

Well this still is by far the most accurate Graflex replica out there. My point was that some of the complaints I am seeing are quite unrealistic given the scope of what Roman has accomplished. He even stated from the start that there would be 1 or 2 intentional inaccuracies to be used as a tell. Now I realize there are a few other issues but the some of the stuff I have seen here just seems unrealistic. If you want exactly what was in the film, buy a real Graflex. I am very much looking forward to receiving mine and signing up for Roman's MPP run as soon as the thread is opened. I do hope those of you who aren't satisfied find a way to make your replicas work for you but there is always the junkyard or e-bay, you will certainly make your money back there!

Re: === G R A F L E X === Flashgun ... NOW SHIPPING!!!

Even after receiving my own Roman GRAFLEX, I stay subscribed to this thread to track the progress and success of Roman's undertaking. Now all I read here are people complaining about a near perfect R E P L I C A.

You're all "makers" right? Then make it work.

Some people will like it while others will hate it. No one is wrong in their opinion. It's been reported that the hilts received are "not as advertised" and that parts purchased i.e. blade holders, will not fit correctly. If that's the case then customers should be refunded in full if that's their choice.

No one is right or wrong.

Customers should not be FORCEd to try to sell their hilts to recoup their money. No one will make their money back. Roman has some issues he needs to address. How he addresses them will either help or hurt his business.

I don't disagree about the customer service aspect, I just hope people keep a little perspective.

And there you have the proof for the difference between propbuilders and toybuilders.

Don´t forget that abomination is even worse than the Ewok movies.

Re: === G R A F L E X === Flashgun ... NOW SHIPPING!!!

Yeah, I'm sure everybody is really impressed that your lightsaber can pop a flash bulb. So much more impressive than having light and sound and trying to replicate the movie experience. To each his own.

So, you're really excited about Ep8, huh?

Re: === G R A F L E X === Flashgun ... NOW SHIPPING!!!

The glowing sabers used in TFA were used for the snow battle. And only a portion of the shots. 80% or more of the graflex you see in TFA is a STATIC HILT converted from a graflex. The fx versions also had a big ugly antenna on the bottom along with other differences.

This, and some of them were even covered in cloth... again, perspective. I just hope we all end up happy with whatever we use our Graflex replicas for in the end.

yes, I tried to cancel because I wanted a near perfect accurate replica, which I intend to turn into a near accurate prop. I don't mind it not being an accurate flashgun after, I just want an accurate prop.

I believe I am within my rights as a buyer to cancel orders if they were not as accurate as they were supposed to be. also, its my money. just like others who create sabers out of original flashguns, I wanted to do so with the romans prop.

I'm in a position I can afford these things, luckily. I'm also in position that I have gained a lot of knowledge about the graflex. so I think I can tell the difference between one and other quite easily. I know fixes are in the works, and maybe in a week or two options would have opened up, but atm I'm just disappointed my $245 for an exact replica were spent on a not totally accurate replica.

15800752_755351094631477_4531682814454132110_o.jpgfrom elite lightsaber society facebook, some interesting news from vaders vault

So, interestingly, the Parks 2.0 7/8" cores, and, by association, our 1" cores just so happen to fit in the Romans. So, while we are not professing 100% accuracy to a vintage on these, frankly that ship has sailed anyway, we thought we would offer folks another option. If you have any 7/8" cores lying around you can build something around them, or you can get one of our 1" adapters. We have also put up some of our 7/8" cores for a nominal price. Link to our cores is here: htt...p://store.vadersvault.com/1-bore-graflex-2-0-adapter/ . DISCLAIMER: This is a DIY solution, it is up to you to make this work for your purpose. We are just offering folks options. These are in stock and ready to ship Monday morning. Keep in mind our adapters have the standard 3-48 threaded holes, whereas the Parks have the 4-40 pins. Also the screw that attaches the shell to the cores will not fit, you would need to find the appropriate 4-40 screw.15896341_755350961298157_7068706574413843897_o.jpg

I suppose I am just less particular about this than some of you, I do understand the frustration of not getting what you expected.I hope it works out for you and that you are happy with the end result and I look forward to seeing the build on here!

Re: === G R A F L E X === Flashgun ... NOW SHIPPING!!!

So the uppers very closely match Graflex 2.0. How did that happen?

Side question. Who made the render on the first page of this thread? Because they too match Graflex 2.0 and what has shipped, rather than a vintage flash. I don't recall seeing those renders early last year.

Re: === G R A F L E X === Flashgun ... NOW SHIPPING!!!

Wow. I hope this doesn't discourage Roman moving forward in future sales or the possibility of the MPP run. I believe each one of us that ordered this graflex had their own intensions for what style or use they would have being a static or working saber. Maybe even left alone to be a camera display. Sometimes we fall victim to our OWN expectations, and take the fun out of it before it happens, and of course because we are already hyped up, it can fall short. No, I don't own a real graflex, but I have been studying all the comparison threads. From what I have seen, I'm very happy with my purchase and truth be told, knowing where we are today,with all of the reviews both good and bad, I would still buy one. The comparison threads gives me enough to go on. Some of the inaccurate shots are so slight, it's not really that much of a concern. Mine will serve the purpose which I intended it for, and that's a static ANH prop. Accuracy is and has been my main goal while building any prop, and I feel this is my best option and opportunity to do so without spending a lot of money on a real graflex.

Hopefully this puts an end to the 2.0 comparison. Here are some close up shots to show they are not the same. The glass eye from 2.0 sits higher than romans not mention they aren't even the same diameter as each other. My battery is low so you can't see the numbers but you CAN SEE the size difference

I did not re adjust my calipers but simply set it on romans. You can see the gap clear as day. This is not the same as the 2.0
