Full halo armor wip

heres my halo armor so far, ive been working on it for about 4 months now and have gotten a good amount done, but i have to have id done in 3 months because i am making it for my senior project in highschool so i thought id finally put up a thread here to document the rest of my progress. please tell me what you think of it, and any advice you might have.

Keep at it man, great start! It's not gonna be an easy process, but I can tell you that if you keep being persistant, you'll get it done when you need it to be! Good luck!

thanks! i used a couple of differant peoples pep files but its been a while since i did them i cant remember whos they are. :unsure

i did alot more work on the left thigh peice today and even went ahead and did the inside of the thigh and padding inside it with gym equitment matt.

Are you using spackling for what people would typically use bondo for? I would think an auto body filler (not necessarily bondo) would be better suited for the job, especially if you want it to last past the project. It looks like you're making some serious progress though, congratulations.

thanks! im not using spackling im using 2 part auto body filler, its light weight and easyer to sand than bondo.

i did a little more work today but not much, anyways heres a pic of a test fitting of the arm parts (without any kind of straps to hold them there) plus one of me without them cuz i thought it looked kinda bad a** :lol

today i made my custom gun to go with my armor. its a nerf watergun that i stole from my little brother. when i first started i was going to make a normal assault rifle but thought it looked realy good as is. the only real modifications i made to it is that i cut out a part of the back of the gun and made a lightup ammo counter and some parts from an old phone.

Good work so far. I'm sure this is going to be the coolest senior project. How high did you scale your helmet? Did you have to trim the bottom of the helmet to get it to fit right?

thanks! i actuallty scalled the helmet down 30% i think. i cant remember if i trimmed the hemlet any, but if i did it wasent by much cuz its pretty tightly on my head. heres the build thread if you want to see how i made it: http://www.therpf.com/f24/my-master-chief-helmet-96414/

You used the FS helmet file right? I'm trying to find a scale that fits properly so I can build the helmet . Could you tell me the height of the helmet? The file is set default at 260mm and I'm not sure if that will be big enough. Thanks.

i justt checked and the file is flyingsquirl's hd helmet. i, now that i think about it, i didnt scale this helmet at all, and its pretty small, but i have a realy small head, so it worked out nicely for me.
