FULL ARMOURED PREDATOR WIP

That is absolutley amazing looking.....I read your posts and I may have overlooked it, but what did you use for the "gel-coat"? It turned out great!

thanks Jaded, well all I used for the effect of bio look on the armour was gelcoat for molding, mixed ii really thick so when you apply it and pull the brush away it leaves that effect on it ( if you look closer you will will a vein type effect ), always pull the brush directly towards you, that way you get a better effect. hope this helps!

Here's an update on my full armoured pred costume so far.

finished the outer thigh armour, given it the same bio organic look, painted and sealed. started doin the butt skin, did this with latex to make it look as if he is wearing the skin of former kills as trophies, throughout my pred costume you'll see pieces of latex made to look like the flesh that has been torn from of his prey that have fallen foul to him in battle! I've nearly completed the work on my plasma caster, took a couple of photo's of it so far, you'll see the vein effect on the cannon that is on the complete armour, just got to finish the paint up, add light effects and its finished.

The story behind my pred is he is from a lost clan of nomadic predators, long since forgotten, believed to have been slaughtered in an horrendous battle, until now! he's the soulsearcher a rogue pred that hunts not just for sport, but for his belief that with every successful hunt and kill, he takes his preys soul, their strength, knowledge, skills etc and with each and every kill he has vengeance for the untimely death of his clan. but the lust for vengeance has a price, RAGE!! nothing will stand in his way, blood as been spilled, his clan slaugthered, the soulsearcher is looking for his next kill !!

just an insight into how my pred came about, and how he's evolved into a fully armoured Predator.

started on my own bio design on monday evenin after feelin fed up most of the day with a cracking migraine, once the painkillers had kicked in I started work. started with the cardboard templtes for the basic bio design, then hot glued the sections together, once the glue had set, I gave it a quick resin coat to give it some strength. I'm not doing a full face bio, rather a cut away version , with sections that reveal the preds head in places, cover the tusks and mandibles with plate section armour to make it look as though it moves when the pred opens and closes its jaws. Goin to cover the eye section with a lense of some description, but haven't decided what type as yet. I've only taken two shots of how it looks now ( I'm Really shattered ), but hopefully tomorrow it should have progressed further so hopin to post more pics. somehow I've deleted the previous pic's of the armour, so I'll post em back up again, well I said I was shattered!

It seems abit odd tho if your pred is gonna be fully armoured........I mean...why would he go to all the trouble of being fully armoured if he's gonna leave gapping holes in his most vulnrable peice

.......not saying this to piss in your slippers or anything........and I really like the design.....but I dont think it would look right on a fully armoured pred if you know what i mean.

just my opinion but i think that this bio design is killer..
instead of covering up the holes in this one why not just make another one and close those holes up...
like i said i think this bio is killer!!!!!

Even tho I said what I said......and stand by it......I didn't mean for you to change this design as I do really like it...........but like Torredator said.......keep this one and finish it because it IS a killa design.......but make another one for your full armoured pred.

F##king hell paul that bio is awesome man if you ever decide to make a mold of that you would have to filling to cut out bits to mold it and then cut them out after the cast is done that is going to look sweet as keep up the awesome work dude

I've taken on board what you guys have said, and I'm keepin this design but I'm adding detacthable armour to the sections that have been cut away, this way I can make it a full bio or remove the sections as and when. Hope you guys agree? will post up the progress on this a little later today hopefully.
