I gotta say, I've got mixed feelings about it, but overall, I think I'm okay with this.

Anyone else got any thoughts?

That trailer made no sense to me...

Basically, it's expanding and remaking the original movie for the TV series. We're getting more of what we didn't see before the opening scene in the film (such as some of the robberies that the Gecko brothers performed, and the sheriff chasing after them until the brothers end up at the liquor store scene as we see in the first film, and apparently after that, more expansion/remake on the first film itself). We also get to see even more of Richie's psychosis, possibly even seeing the in-between moment from when Seth left to go get food to the time he returned to the motel room, and from the brief appearance of the statue of Santanico Pandemonium, possibly another retelling of From Dusk Till Dawn 3: The Hangman's Daughter, and with the sheriff and his deputy, maybe a retelling of From Dusk Till Dawn 2: Texas Blood Money (ironically, Robert Patrick, who apparently takes on Harvey Keitel's role from the movie, played in Part 2 as Buck {no relation to Buck from Kill Bill, though Kill Bill takes place in the same movie universe}). So, basically, we're getting the lead up to the events in the first film, a retelling of the first film, possible retelling of Part 3 and a lot of new content in between.

Plus, it'll be on HBO, and if True Blood or Game of Thrones is any indication, we can expect to see a full-on blood and gore fest, with no cutting or censoring.

I bet Robert Rodriguez is crapping himself with happiness.

Its going to be on HBO? I thought I read it was going to be on Robert Rodriguez's new tv channel, The El Rey Network? I noticed I already get that channel, but there's no new programming on it yet.

Huh... I'd heard a lot of talk about HBO, but an all new channel?

Makes sense, though. Robert Rodriguez can make the show with however much blood, gore, nudity, and off the wall Robert Rodriguez Goodness that he wants, all without anyone or anything to hold him back.

I'm a little worried about the El Rey Network, though. It had better hit the ground running with some good programming right off the bat, or it will fail. If anyone can pull it off, though, it's Rodriguez.

I am optimistic, but afraid that without Quentin's writing this will fall flat. I guess we will just have to wait, and see. I do wish the actors were more established. Who knows it could be good.

How do we know if Tarantino isn't involved? I mean, Rodriguez and Tarantino seem like they're friends, and I don't think Rodriguez would have proceeded with creating the show without his approval from Tarantino. In fact, since the show appears to remake the movie, naturally that dialogue and situations that cross over comes straight from Tarantino.

Of course, the only real way to know for sure is to wait to see who the writing credits are for the show.

Me, I just hope they keep the original opening song from the film.
