Free Pacific Rim Jaeger Pilot Suit?

Awesome. I'm glad there's still someone interested in this. Thanks, SriLanKING for showing your work.

I just had 3 3D printers donated. I'll be glad to do the printing and mold making. We'll look at materials later. Negative vacuumform might be the way to go, if the detail is sharp enough. I'll also ask my friends at Legacy about the fabric. I have a guy here that can do the printing, or I can make a digital file and it can be machine printed. Actually, I'm going to see some of the guys from LE at Comic Con on Saturday, and I'll see if they know anything. Also, I'm meeting up with another guy that's done a 3D model for himself and he might be interested in helping.

Persistence!

@SriLanKING If you need help unfolding in order to share the file, I'm up for the challenge. Like I said, I think it would be great to not only be able to offer 3D printing, but also just a general resource as well

So im a little late to the party, and although I've taken about a year and a bit off from working with them regularly my school has a fleet of 3d printers, and I have what what I'd say is sufficient mastery of them to print what we'd need ; better yet since my classmates managed to break our replicator 2's the last I heard we were investing in a makerbot z18 with a 12x12x18 inch build volume, and 100 micron layer resolution, So I'd be more than happy to help with producing the 3d files needed for the suits, and if my highschool does buy the z18 I could be a viable option for the production of Positives to produce molds for the suit's pieces

P.S.

We also have a wood CNC router. So if anyone else thinks that'd be helpful with production id love an excuse to become more well versed with its operation.

Good to know, thanks! Marcello, where are you located?

I took a pile of reference photos of the suits at Comic-con. I'll upload them soon. Also, I may be taking some closer photos before the auction.

I'm just outside of Philadelphia. I was hoping someone caught them at the Prop store booth.

Im in the process of obtaining a full suite of autodesk 2015 software which will probably take a week or two to become fully versed in, but after that I can start working on sketching/dimensioning for cad files.

On a separate note ; I've seen some concerns about the parts fitting everybody involved in the project. We can design the parts in a medium height, and from their simply scale them in the printer's environment to get a small medium and large size for each piece if we have sufficient funding for the print materials, and mold making materials.

This is awesome. The wife and I have decided to save up for the next year and attend San Diego Comicon next year from South Africa. We have decided on the Jaeger armor is going to be our main cosplay. So as as far as resources I don't have much. So I can't wait to see how this turns out.

@Toddscosumes, Did you ever get and info on the fabric from your friend at Legacy? I am now in the planning faze of my Pilot-suit and am starting to source materials for the build.

Gunship, No, I didn't connect with them at Comicon, but I did recently see one of my friends that works there and he's asking one of the owners about letting me study the suits. I don't know at this point if the suits are still there, or if they're being used for Pac Rim 2. I will shoot an email today to get hooked up with whoever knows where they purchased the raw fabric.

@ToddsCostumes, Awesome, I have been looking everywhere for material that would at least pass for the under suit, nothing. I am exited to see is you get a solution so I will be waiting patiently.
