Freddy Krueger's Hat, What kind?

What kind of hat would be best for a Freddy Krueger? I am looking for something around $50.

Depending on what film it's Brown NMES 2-7 or Dark Gray NMES 1. The ribbon was not on in the first three films.

You'd probably be better off getting a cheap fedora from ebay.

The federations and federation deluxes are actually cut to Indiana Jones' specs with a tall, straight crown. They also both have the dimensional brim cut, meaning that the brim is narrower on the sides than it is on the front and back. Niether of those two features would be correct for a Freddy Kreuger lid.

If you do go with hatsdirect (whom I deal with exclusively for lids), I'd suggest either the fedora or the CEO (grey only) with the ribbon removed.

At least one of the screen used part 1 fedora's was a 'Designer Collection' fedora:

I was looking for one a while back - it seems they were a fairly cheap 80's hat, but I didn't manage to track the exact one down. Ebay?

If you really want to go the extra cheap route, I just saw one at 'Micheals'
It's really just a rubberish foam cowgirl hat. But you will have to paint it with some flexible paint.
Cause the colors were green and one in light orange.
It looked like it could stretch on a big head.
I was fixin to pick one up for $2....
