I was thinking the same! If it was anyone else they would of updated the run by now? Its Sunday so surely you have picked the keys up? Or will you get them next year?

On the line of people don't care about your personal problems? Well, no one does anymore because you have plaid everyone around and lied all the time, that no cares or has very little trust in you. Look you are probably a good person and your work looks as is great but your not a Business person. You need to end this run ASAP and if you can get the armour out quick, Then start refunding people as this project has gone on for far to long. I would still like the armour but im now facing having to go elsewhere to get it.

And he has said that refunds have gone out. Can anyone on this run confirm this statement or is it just words?

For the second half of my armor, I received a refund from my paypal claim. I've not heard anything from Mimic about a refund from the first half which I paid last year.

I was implying from what MIMIC said a couple days ago saying a couple refunds have gone out from him not PayPal. Happy you got part of it back from the claim. But curious to see if he is lying again(which is most likely the case) since your the only one to have quoted or responded to my post so far. So yay, that's alot of money gone it seems that many of us wont get back. And this is why the 501st sites say only use trusted vendors not crap off this. Should have known this run was too good to be true.

MIMIC, maybe it's good to just give some concrete info about how this will continue. I think most people here just want to know some concrete things like:

1. What's the status of the armor right now? What is done, what still needs to be done? Maybe some pictures of what is ready.
2. What's the planning to finish the rest? How much weeks or months do you think this will take?
3. What is possible refund-wise: how many people are you able to refund if they want a refund instead of the armor?
4. Can people expect regular updates from now on? For instance: can you say "I commit myself to post an update in this thread twice a week, with some pictures of the work done, until this run is done."?

I really think that very concrete info is needed here to make people somewhat confident again. It's good that you replied again in this thread, but I can also understand that people think this last reply was not enough, because it's pretty vague. Since I am not really involved in all this, I try to keep a neutral view. So I can understand that sometimes life throws you curveballs that causes you to neglect certain things that does not seem important then (like this run), and on the other side I can also understand that buyers just want some kind of short update on the situation, since they all invested money in this. I still hope things can be sorted out.

Really: if the quality of the stuff I got from MIMIC, was not so d*mn fine, I wouldn't care at all about this thread and would just hope that MIMIC was banned as soon as possible, but I think it would be a real shame to loose someone (or a team) so talented here on the RPF. This kind of quality is very rare these days. Only for that reason I hope things will work out in the end. As we all know: delivering superb quality as to go hand in hand with delivering customer service. And this last part really is lacking here.

And MIMIC, please don't look at this as "People just don't care about the difficult period I've been through / I'm going through." This really is a separate thing, I think. People are just waiting for a very long time now and really want to focus on progress on their armor. So keep the communication open, I'd say! Best of luck with the run! I hope that in the end, people will say: "It was a hell to go through and to get what I paid for, but what I got in the end was quality wise top notch!"

Sent a PM asking for refund on my second half. I still want the rest of my armor if its actually happening but need to have it back and I'll pay the rest when the time comes for shipment which I doubt will ever happen.
Just the usual MIMIC post one message out of the blue and disappear.

Sorry for anyone I told about this run and sharing my excitement for it I feel like even more an ass just for being a beacon of this run. It was supposed to be a small limited run but MIMIC kept taking money and I'll assume that's a scam until proven otherwise

I will just wait for my second half, even though I am proceeding with the second half from KB.

This thread has turned into more of a lesson of what not to do, then a sales thread from MIMIC. He still never responds to any questions we post.

His monthly posts I feel are just written without even reviewing the comments from his customers and then he waits another month.

I am also not aware of anyone who has gotten a refund.

Hello everyone- thank you to those who have sent kind messages.

There has been a little confusion as I requested that non of the new white resin I have be used to do the test pulls from each mould... so they’ve been cast in black Polyester - not what I meant as we have white pigment so not ideal as it doesn’t look as good but I guess you can see enough to get the idea... I am hesitant to even post these photos for fear of backlash about something but anyway... here are test pulls from each mould in black.

MORE IMPORTANTLY- below that you will see what I was working on before I went away- the ability to now cast several parts at once and very very quickly compared to the previous technique. The material is very high quality and the finish even better, very strong, more flexible, achieves a high polish and won’t produce small hairline surface cracks like the gelcoat could before on the larger parts.

I’m now busy rigging all of the moulds together in various configurations to make the process as efficient as possible - to produce several parts at once with as little waste as possible.

I’m also composing a list of those of you who have stated here and other places that you want to be done with this project and will refund you all ASAP but again as not just one or two of you have requested refunds- several of you have At the same time totalling several thousand pounds that PayPal is now minus. At least 5 possibly 6 p

eople have had refunds sent and there are more remaining so please bare with me on that.

I think indeed this was the post people were waiting for: proof that things are still moving. I don't think confidence is completely restored yet, but it probably will come, once people are receiving what they paid for...

So with a few people leaving the run now surely that free up some time and spaces to get the armour out quick? Heck even offer it to people who don't mind it as a kit form. It saves you more time and money to send the rest of the kit. You shouldn't worry about people criticising your work or first pulls etc. You post the pictures so everyone can help you! Give you constructive criticism, Tips etc. That's why we are all here! To help. Anyways when do you think the armour will be out that the big question? During December or Feb time? As Ive said I would still like the armour as its beautiful, but the wait has been killing me!

The pics look great by the way! Keep posting them now you remembered how to do it! Wasnt scary was it? Keep the updates up and you may salvage this run. But after everyone has the armour I would end it.

I think it's not fair to ask if people are "in" or not without more info. There have been so many promises of delivery dates that are way way in the past so to make a decision on a refund or not, we need to know when you can deliver, and accurately so. For example, I'm not interested in waiting if it's 6 more months - I want a refund. But I also don't want to be told "end of the month" type stuff again and then no accounting for why it ends up being nowhere near that.

With 2 years on this project, surely you can say with decent accuracy when you think you'll be shipping out the 2nd half, especially with more people dropping from the project?

Here's the thing, just like what camprandall said. Is there gonna be an accurate timeline now when parts will ship? An actual timeline and not another failed date which has happened a crap ton of times. If everything will start pulling and shipping very quickly then yes I want to stay on the run. But if it's gonna keep getting pushed back and no progress like it has been and since I'm out of my timeline to guarantee a refund if anything does happen then I want my money back. When I first got on the run for half a kit and unfinished you said it would be 2 weeks. I don't understand why you would say that when obviously you were nowhere near that since we are here over a year later. With many dates failed to meet and other messages between me and you saying after a few kits more and I would be next. So please elaborate on shipping and pull dates. How long it takes to cast these parts, etc. At this point we deserve to know all this information

MIMIC I recommend you put together a spreadsheet and post it. I started one for this group about 2 months ago. I should have everyone listed in order. I have already updated it with people that have received armor and when. But I would recommend adding information like the anticipated ship date of their set, etc....

I have attached it for your use, if you want. I keep my business one posted via google drive with a Live link so people can see it in real time. It works very well for me.

And yes, I am with Camprandall / Capnstunn18 / Empire...etc....I want to stay in this run and get my second half. However, I am going to finish my armor with another's 2nd half so I can actually troop in this thing until I get your half. But we need to see the progress and open lines of communication.
