Its pretty smooth Heartstopper, you’ll be receiving yours next week, but you can happily run your hand all over the armor on the inside there aren’t any sharp bits.

Can I ask a couple of questions that maybe the guys who have received their partial kit or Mimic can answer ? , at the back of the abb piece I want to get a plastic zipper put in ,can someone tell me what the length of the opening is at the back
I also want to cut some 0.5mm aluminium plate to put in the centre slot in the yoke piece over the shoulder, how wide is this central slot

Why do a zipper when you can just put 2 pieces of styrene or ABS and put magnets so you can put the armor on yourself without help and also without putting holes in the armor? My piece hasn't failed and it's been about a year. Especially if you grow in size it gives you leeway and to easily make the pieces longer if needed

Thanks for the tip there, I had tried the magnets on my K.B kit but this time looking to use Velcro and the zip with no holes needed.The wife will always be there to do me up as that’s what they are for, ain’t they .

Here's a few. Make sure they are N52 Neodimium magnets. They're the strongest. I only use the upper and lower the middle is just there for support really. I also have the TD with magnets as well. Never attached or chromed cause Phasma isn't required for some reason(not complaining.

Hello everyone,

Thank you for sharing that info CAPNSTUNN18 and the pics @Rogue Nugget Thank you for the pics.

Quick update. The Ab mould required a little tweaking. Basically the clean up of the seam that was there had caused a casting issue with the gelcoat also it just added too much extra time to each set cleaning it up. Sorry about that but it was the one last problem I had and with these first components and would have felt bad sending out something that I knew was gonna be a problem for a lot of people.

Anywho- it’s back up and running @Sikes @heartstopper85 yours are going to be finished any day - @Gunnartrooper @gijim yours will be finished next week. The week after, from off of the top of my head it’s @crooknight and then @Al May . I’ll continue to post the next couple of places as the ones prior are going out.


Hopefully that’s okay. If anyone has any issues or concerns please feel free to PM anytime even if it’s just general chit chat about this project, it’s very welcome.

I forgot to put on the crotch guard and butt plate lol. I was so excited getting this out of the box and seeing how great they look! The helmet is from Anovos and is meh...but I got it a while ago. The armour made by MIMIC, holy crap! I'm so happy I waited. This is quality for sure! I can already tell if I scuff the armour I can buff it out, or throw a bit of polish on it
