Hey Tripoli, I have sent a pm to mimic a couple of days ago with no response.
He will be busy with rolling these kits out, my PayPal expires in Feb also but as I have said to mimic I will be willing to wait this out.
He has started to get kits out to people on the list, but also I think an update on the list would be good once he has a bit of time.
Just a little patience, it will come about.

Mimic is Sara Watson, a she. She has promised my pieces I paid for in October for November, then December, then January has noted she is having issues with getting behind on her orders. I have been burned a few times here, so, when I get promised over and over again to the point I may loose my funds, I will press vie payment to either get a refund or get the items. It's that simple. I can take a delay, I do not do so when told over and over that it is on the way when it is not. I just refuse to get burned any longer.

Hey Jeff,

No need to send a PM and then spam all of our unassociated threads within a few minute window. PM inbound but I’m pretty sure last time we spoke you said you would like to wait for your prop to be finished properly and have told me not to rush it...?? Please only either PM me or post on the associated sales thread as it’s very confusing for everyone else.

anyway...

as for everyone here on the FOTK run, I think Empire has received his 1st box of armor now also but I haven’t heard from him so hopefully he’s okay, I thinks he’s a chef so is probably busy working late...

Im keeping bang on track and hopefully from here on out it’s going to be lots of photos of people putting together their armor!

Thanks for update as always Mimic.

Hope you have good news Empire

I'm willing to pay more for shipping from ups if there was a better experience for everyone so please let us know how that went.

My experiences with royal mail have not been good with my orca boots for shoretrooper and tramp voice unit. Never got tracking numbers luckily I was home to receive both items.

Your awesome MIMIC and glad for the update. Keep it coming, us still here understand how the prop making world is and the time frames that come with it. Can't wait to see the progress pics and seeing others get there kits!

I noted in November when you (Mimic had noted the stones were almost ready to ship out that week that a I did not mind a little extra time to make sure the stones were finished properly. Expecting them to ship out then as you had noted, in November as you had said.

I do than the few that have pm'd as well wishing the best outcome here. I hate to make these post but it seem to be the only way to get a response from Mimic. I would say to those in the same situation to keep on pushing. I don't doubt Sara is talented in prop making, it's the management of her projects and her lack of communication and follow up that is frustrating.

Thanks everyone! The armour is fantastic! The quality is beyond amazing! Mimic has done a fantastic job on this armour and it is really worth the wait! Im gonna have to do some padding adjustment for my hardness to fit perfectly. But the armour is worth the wait for the craftsmanship! Nothing but praise mimic! Now I'm going to get it ready for strapping etc.

You gonna do the two straps for the bells and magnet in back for closing the ab piece?

Curious how butt and cod go on

I have two strips of Velcro for the butt plate. Since it has the skirt you could use snaps or Velcro or a combination of both. The movie used suits used snaps only I believe. The belt on the outside of the skirt obviously and the butt and cod were snapped and/or velcroed on the inside of the skirt. Connected in TFA with an elastic strap between the two but in TLJ they let the cod flow free which is kinda annoying and funny seeing the cod flop around will nilly

Anyone have a link showing how the screen-used suits were strapped? I was thinking one strap on each shoulder bell, similar to an OT trooper. I was also planning on riveting a zipper to the back of the armor to close the torso, as there should be a cover for that area anyway. Was planning on glueing the torso to the geekypink harness I ordered to hold it up like suspenders, then letting the chest/back just float or rest on my shoulders. And yes, butt and cod attached to the underside of the torso, but I was considering Chicago screws.

I wouldn't recommend Chicago screws cause the stress of moving around may pop them off. My belt boxes always broke off on Phasma until I connected them to the belt with shoestring elastic. Sooo much better. And I used two styrene strips with magnets to hold the Ab plate together instead of a zipper. Never had a problem and allows me to put on the entire kit on by myself except for gloves. Shoulders I have permanently attached to the back piece with 2 inch nylon glued with e6000. Gonna put a magnet on the bicep and bell to make it more stable but it has looked great so far. They used some kind if harness to keep the Ab piece up. I'll look for pictures when I get out of class if no one has posted anything yet

Shoulders are two straps on the screen used and I find it helps a lot with sliding forward or back vs a single strip. I like the idea of the small elastic for belt boxes because they do get in the way sometimes.

It's two 1in straps and then they have like an aluminum strip to keep them upright in the middle or something like that
