Force Pike Plans

Does anyone know if a set of plans were ever made for the OT Force Pike? I did a search and haven't come across much dimensioned stuff. Need to poke around the SP site some more to be sure. If I have to work up my own set I can, I just don't want to :lol That being said, any good reference pics would be much appreciated!

I've made this one:

and reference was this picture:

I just changed the top of the pike because I didn't want that spiky look. When trooping I was not sure if these things wouldn't graze my helmet... :cry

My biggest suggestion when building a pike - if you're making it out of PVC, fill it with something. Give it some weight, otherwise it'll feel too light when trooping. That was my experience when I was TR-023. :)

I made the force pike for my wife's RG costume with a modified golf ball retriever. I cut the basket off, put in a pen top as the tip, glued some studs and finally glued a generic sink knob to the bottom of the handle.

Not quite screen accurate, but it looks the part:

Best one I've seen! The bottom half is so close to the real deal it's stunning. The upper is not bad.
I have no idea who started the BS rumor that got people using OWK pommels as the butt of their pikes, but they are NOTHING like the proper shape.

All very nifty guys! I perused my SW guide and checked the whopping 2 pictures of RG's in it. From the looks of it, the prequel ones seem to be machined with a black satin finish painted on the handle area. Anyone have ideas or can prove me right?

Laubi, that pike looks great! Mind if use your sketch as a starting point in my drawing?

This is the tutorial I'm working on for how I put mine together. It isn't complete yet, but far enough along that you should be able to finish it no problem. The basis for it is a 3/4" diameter ski pole.

use it as you wish... ;)

Well, I checked my SW: Chronicles books last night and came up with a big zero for ROTJ shots. However, the prequel one did have two shots of the one used in Ep III. THOSE are definitely machined pieces with a tapered cylinder for a pommel. I'll have to get some scans on thursday and post them. That pike would definitely be the easiest to do, so I think I'll start there first while I grab more info on the OT pike. I don't want to draw up plans we can't all agree on!

Speaking of, here are some OT ref pics I found, all from either the movie or MoM.

This is supposed to have been from a MoM exhibit:

As were these:

Did find a nice pic of the emitter:

And this is a diagram from the jedi academy:

And a pic of the Gentle Giant figure for good measure:

Looking through these it seems like there are at least two, maybe three different styles of force pikes! Given the number made, it's not too surprising, but the variation is still pretty striking. The promo photo and one other shows the nice obi style pommel, while other have the more double wedge shape, and still others have just the wide cylinder with a taper at the top, much the same as the ones from Ep III. They are all tapered, but even the emitters vary between each prop. Except for the very odd emitter found on the "hero" version with the obi pommel in the promo shot, the rest typically just have 5 ring machines into the top of the pole, again like a prequel pike.

Now would SOMEONE care to make heads or tails of all this, please? :confused

I'm pretty sure this was made available on there boards some time ago as well. Any thoughts?

Just from those last two pics, with the difference in chroming, more and more I'm beginning to think there were one or two "Hero" props and then stunts for everyone else. Anyone else think the pommel on the last one almost looks like its got four flat sides to it?

im using this old topic to see if there are new plans for a force pike out there?

or any new pictures to use as reference
